Botes is having a shocker. Italy got a big pack Ireland. You will not kill them off like that. Do what France did. Spread it wide and make them run around a lot. When they tire the gaps will appear and you will get your tries.

Another well worked try power from Stephen Ferris is really having an impact in the 2nd half. Along with Kearney I think he's one of the standouts for Ireland today. Good to see O'Mahony and Ryan on to add fresh legs and enthusiasm and having an instant impact.

They are vulnerable out wide. Ireland realize that now I think plus 20 minutes to go those big guys up front legs are starting to become heavier.

Still Ireland playing in fits and starts isn't going to cause too many sleepless nights over in France in the next week.

Those final passes just aren't going to hand for Ireland. In fact it has been happening all around the world in most of the games this weekend. That is strange

Delighted Andrew Trimble got that try he's spent so long in the shadow of the other backs.

42-10 final score comfortable win and impressive second half from Ireland. There's plenty of potential for Ireland to improve and I'm still waiting for an 80 minute performance from the team. Playing well in one half wont beat France in Paris.

I think there will be many calls for Reddan to start against France but I think Murray is still the better option to start with Reddan offering more from the bench.

Only next week will tell if Ireland's slow start was due to the 3 week lay off or part of the same problem of not being switched on and at top intensity for the full 80.

Eoin Reddan has definitely speeded up things for the Irish. O' Connel had a good game for me and he saved a certain try when the scores where 23-10 by ripping the ball away from the Italian when they were mauling forward.

England up 9-6 at half time against Wales. For the first 20 minutes Wales blew England away in everywhere except for where it counts most the scoreboard. After that both teams looked good when they got into the opposition 22 and traded penalties.

England really put it up to Wales physically and Tuilagi made some impressive runs. Some of the biggest hits of the weekends rugby so far have been in this firat half. England seem to be targeting Priestland a little and when you look at the rest of the Wales backline he's the obvious candidate.

North has made some good breaks and I still don't know why Priestland decided to chip a ball over the England try line when he had options outside him. Wales need to step it up in the seconds half and not let England get further ahead. Looks like an exciting second half ahead.

PRIESTLAND YELLOW

That welsh discipline is costing them 12 - 6 England. Wales are down to fourteen men and without a playmaker for the next ten minutes.

Scott Williams goes painfully close after slipping through the English net. Why didn't he pass??/ He had three guys on the out side!!

Congatulations to Wales on the triple crown. Came back really well against England and it was an excellent winning try from Williams. Over the 3 games it was well deserved.

England will probably feel hard done by in the last few minutes. North probably should have gone to the bin for knocking the ball into touch on purpose and the no-try at the end looked like Strettle got the ball down. Even if that was awarded it was a tough kick to tie it up.

Strettle was over the line and reached out with one arm in desperation for some grass. But the TMO adjudged it inconclusive and Wales subsequently win the game and with it the Triple Crown. Congrats to them.

OMG we held out and won! Gnawed the fingers clean off both hands watching the last 4 minutes. Thought the orcs' defence was awesome mind. Would love to see Matthew Rees fit sometime soon. Optimism rampant. Crushing disappointment likely awaits on the 17th. In the meantime, come on the Jocks!

Another disturbing trend emerged from Saturday- the likeable Englishmen! This northern tendency is a breath of fresh air. the coach and farrell in particular. Must say though that it's annoying when England are likeable but fortunately Lawes and Hartley are still impressive cnuts. Strettle's whingeing indicates he is learning and Delon Armitage might be allowed back at some point so all is not lost.

I have a feeling we are in for a toweling next year in the lions series. A backline of Dixon/Phillips, Farrell/Priestland, North, Roberts, Tuilagi, halfpenny and Kearny looks very dangerous. And it is a given that the pack will be strong.

Half time Scotland 10 France 10. Scotland start briliantly with a try from Hogg who's been cutting the French to shreds. Scotland were 10-0 up until Fofana scored for France. By the time the game restarted both Lamont and Blair were off with injuries. The loss of Blair who was running the show was a hammer blow for Scotland.

France then got a penalty to level it up. On the stoke of half time Parra missed a dead cert from just right of the posts. Scotland easily the best team in the first half but France are in the game without having to try that hard.

Great run from Fofana on the angle.
Scotland 10 France 10

Nice fight back by France after Scotland were 10 zip up within 25 minutes

France's tactic of commiting as few bodies to the ruck s possible was exploited there by Scotland for the Jones try but France hit right back with a try from Medard. 20-17 France and this has been very entertaining.
