I seriously believe you have underestimated the Newington coaching's staff ability to nurture their players, Pryor-Lees would have to be one of the most involved and active players i've seen on a pitch lately. The fact that you would make fun of the amount he cleans shows how ignorant and myopic you are, Robertson (J) may have the clean record at 130kgs however i would still say that Pryor-Lees is still his equal if not his superior on the field. I happened to be at the game on Saturday when Newington thumped the Joe boys and I believed Pryor-Lees secured himself a place not only in the GPS 1's but the Australian Schoolboys as well. Mark my words, this 'Man Bear' Pryor-Lees is going right to the top.

Also i believe you have done a great misdeed to the Scots forward pack, whilst i agree that they are in complete disarray at the current time, there may yet be hope for them if they manage to pull together and they could have some real talent in there. Also i believe Kings will pull through and surprise everyone to win the comp.

My predictions for placings are
1. Kings
2. Newington
3. Shore
4. Scots
5. Joeys
6. Riverview
7. Grammar

Your results table is certainly possible but I think you need to take into account the great fixtures that View have in the comp. Apart from Joey's in round one, they play Newington, Scots and Kings at home this season, which puts them in a very strong position to go close again this year. That is provided they can beat Joey's in the first round, which is a VERY big if...

In their first two games, many comments indicate that they have been off their game. If they can start hitting some form, it will be very tough for any of these teams to beat them at home. I don't think they have lost a comp game at home for maybe 4 years.

I was at the game and whilst l support the right of free speech, at what stage did 'Manbear' play himself into the Aust Schoolboys?
Was it the 10-12 minute spell he had on the sideline with no visible injury? Was it when the ref tried tocall time back on and he needed a stretch on the ground? Was it when he went earthbound on 2 hits in the scrum?
Please Seal Clubber, there are enough barrows being pushed at the moment. Substance, not hypothesis. The selectors will, of course look at him. but due to playing a new position, is he the best person for that position at the moment. It may cost along the line. But yes, He has some potential to go further in the game. That is up to 'Manbear' himself. :) sorry that nickname makes me think of southpark.

Robertson is a freak athlete, stronger than any other player in the comp and quick enough to outrun wingers (not an exaggeration, just ask Riverview), would have to be one of the first players picked. Vea is obviously the first choice hooker out of a fairly solid field. Personally not a fan of Pryor-Lees, but he will be picked due to his size and ability to clean 60kg in the Newington rowing video. O'Donahue is the in form second rower throughout the trials and deserves his spot alongside Rorke who is expected to make schoolboys. The 6 spot, will either be picked on form (Goldie) or reputation (Dempsey). Murphy or Randell would make a good 7, whoever plays better in the next game will edge out in front. Whiteley is the only View forward to live up to his hype and is deserving of taking the number 8 spot, potentially captaincy? I don't know much about the 9's. Horwitz is almost automatic at fly half after last years accolades. Centres are the biggest headache for the selectors, Stewart and Barclay or Moeroa and Milne, loyalty or leaugies. The back three, Kellaway is definitely going to be fullback, but the wingers will be makeshift, with the likes of Wilde and Foketi leading the charge, however Jones and Holmes should also be considered.

I thought dempsey played very solid CTPE, i was keen to watch him as i have heard so much about him. He started off pretty shaky though, il give you that but from what i was told on the sidelines it was his first game back from injury. In the second half though he carried the ball exceptionally well, getting over the gain line with good leg drive and aggression, he set up both the View tries (which were scored by rorke....) with line breaks and refusal to go to ground.

I agree the view pack looked unfit and uninterested though, and in terms of selections, not many put their hand up. only rep honours for View should be rorke, dempsey, whitley in 1sts and redden at 13/wing for 2nds.

for your info champ redden is in the firsts not the 2nds, get your info right

For all you that may be surprised with riverviews performance in the first few trial rounds, many believe the main cause for there 2 game loosing streak was a result of a nasty head clash between their number 13 and half back in the first 5 minutes of the joeys game, each providing size and skill to the team. The clash resulted in both players recieveing a number of stitches which also saw them on the sidelines for the game against kings. Both players are looking to make a return against scotts in the next trail round. It will be interesting as to how riverview play with there full potential team, and i believe they should be a very strong contender for number 1 position

I was at the joeys vs newington game and to be honest i thought the entire newington forward pack were either unfit or simply lazy. The front row's scrum was particularly disappointing and i really think that pryor-lees needed to do better against the joeys 2nd XV prop who was brought up because of injury, if he is serious about making GPS 1sts he must really improve in my opinion..............i think that robertson at the moment is the best prop in the competition and should be GPS no1.......and this is coming from a shore background so there is no bias

You are from shore yet your name is 'Iloveguslelievre'... however, not disagreeing with your statement regarding Robertson being the best prop in the GPS as i believe he is a one of kind athlete and has the ability to go very far, i hope he does.

o'donoghue played 60 minutes with a badly broken nose against view showing the ticker that all gps players should take note of and espire to emulate

thats stupid, he could have made it so much worse and just made him miss more games. the conussion between the 2 riverview players HAD to result in them leaving the game as for 1. they were both put in the blood bin, and 2. it is mandatory that if the player suffered a concussion that they must be checked on by a doctor

GPS 2012,

This forum is clearly full of errors. To be honest the best player in the competition at the moment would be the number 7 for joeys- Tom Murphy. Followed by a close Oscar "Manbear" Lees of the newington school.... Furthermore, the GPS competition this year is going to be a competitive one with i believe 4 schools fighting for the premiership (Newington, Joeys, Scots, Kings).

Goodluck to all members of the 1st and 2nd XV'S.
