Maybe they also did not figure on there being quite so much interest in this Welsh tour. Should Wales get up in Melbourne on Sat then people might be begging for tickets for the decider. If they have sold 44 000 two weeks before the match then I am guessing that a lot of people will be missing out on this game. I for one did not know it was at the SFG therefore had not even considered that this match would have been sold out. Anyway, what, why and how the ARU do most things seems to become more enigmatic with each passing day.

It's great that it's at the sfs and will continue to be so with inbound tours for a few years to come. It's a credit to the ARU for both doing it then selling it out, game should be a cracker.

If Sydney fans ever filled ANZ then all the tests would be played there. Half full it's a poor stadium, especially when you consider the complete absence of facilities outside the ground.

Several issues last night, with stadium customer service operators, security & police.
If you didn't put on your gold suit, sit down & shut up, they weren't having a bar of it.
Meanwhile the Welsh supporters at times, seem to get away with whatever. By that, I don't mean abuse or what not also.

No doubt the game will be good with a sold out packed ground, but what about the possible extra thousands who can not go to this game.
Call me old fashioned but I would consider the ARU has the important role of bringing rugby to the people, and as many people as possible. An afternoon game will attract a family crowd as well as the usual supporters, if they were lucky enough to get tickets.
After last nights very exciting game the demand for tickets increases. And with the Tickettex adverts of Fox saying that tickets are available (LIARS - yes there are $800 packages left but,,,) lots of people will be disappointed.
So no, I do not agree with your opinion that it is a credit to the ARU putting this at a smaller ground because I believe that rugby should be promoted and given exposure to as wider audience as possible.

BIG THUMBS DOWN to the pubs near the SF ground that would not let any punters in wearing rugby jerseys or other team stuff. We had to go to our accom and get changed before we could have a beer. Honestly, what is wrong with these venues. If you are near the ground and wont let any of us in you will not sell much beer. Captain Cook was too full. But, all that aside, what a game. All the punters at the match were just so nice, happy helpful, even the Welsh, not a hint of spite anywhere. Wish I could say the same about playing the Darkness
I wish this were true. One sad sack managed to get a air horn into the ground. In the 45th, 46th and 48th minute used it in an attempt to put Berrick off his kick. The 46th minute one was when Berrick failed to kick for touch.
They were sitting somewhere at the northern end of the ground. Fans from both teams in the area were pointing to where they thought it came from.
