NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2012

Stewart was doing a fitness test behind me during the GPS game, wasnt moving very fast but it didnt look like he was going through any pain. Still think he and Moeroa will be the Combinded States centres.

I tossed that one up myself for a while, in fact for the last 5-6 weeks, gut goes with Moeroa and my heart says Milne!

I wasn't at today's games (as I wasn't expecting a contest from the CHS lads - which I have made reference to in the CHS thread) and opted not to take the three day camel trek up north!

Nonetheless I am hearing that Milne played excellent, which tipped my scale so to speak!

The teams are now posted on the NSW Schools site. Interesting points

Dempsey at 6, Whitely at 8, Natoli halfback, Horwtiz at 10, Milne on wing, Moroea and Stewart in the centres, Kellaway on Wing and McIntyre at fullback

In the 2's Murphy at 7, Feris and Tulloch in the halves, Creely and Foketi in the centres and Porch from Farrer at fullback

When you say fitness test, in what context! At the trials or just school training.

Do you have a time frame pertaining to a return? BTW how long has he been out for now?

not sure what the nsw selectors are thinking. piggy robertson is by far better than opl, and yet opl gets the nod over piggy

Was just jogging behind me with a NSW physio, must of passed it as he has been named as NSW 12. Don't understand why they would play Milne, Kellaway and McIntyre all out of position. OPL over Piggy Robertson in 1s is also a massive joke.

I concur mate!

I am happy to see my smoky on the bench for 1st's. Also happy to see Tulloch selected in the 2nd's, this young lad has been a great player for a while now and I'm glad he was given an opportunity this year!

McCalman's old man probably handed his young lad his first cigar and brandy tonight (good on this kid - not much size but plenty of cohones if you get my drift).

Random IMO is on the mark with position selections

• OPL over Tom Robertson is ludacris
• Tulloch from GPS 3s to NSW 2s is insane
• The over representation over Kings boys in these rep teams smells fishier than Julia Gillards box after a a long night out with Swanny
• Barclay not even on the bench?
• Lussick from GPS 3s bench to NSW?
• No Pulver?
• Milne, Kellaway and McIntyre all out of position is foolish

The Combined States team is going to rustle a few jimmies at the national carnival my friends so pepper your anguses, cause your old mate dermo is back in the hoodizle (speaking of the hood, I thought Hood from New carved for GPS 2s today)

Good to hear! Ironically with Stewart, Natoli, Moeroa, and Milne in the firsts you could also potentially have a NSW Schoolboys league backline as well ... ... LMAO

Can someone please explain to me this obsession that selectors have with OPL and their blind faith in one of the most overrated players i have ever seen. IMO he potentially cost Murphy a position in the NSW 1s

You're kidding! What do you base that assessment on?

I would have to note that I have been watching most of his games all year (including his SG Ball season) and he seems to be doing alright to me!

Let the Commentary begin !
I must say that I was rather disappointed in the ISA teams performance today....and as such was a little surprised with Natoli's selection at half - although there is little doubt that this pocket dynamo gives 120% whenever he is on the field - seems to have a great rapport with the refs- snagging a few extra penaltiies with his pertinent questionning ! A bit of a worry to see him limp off as he did about half way through the second half ??
The selectors will either appear to be on the money - or made to look like geese - with the selection of a number of players out of position - particularly the back 3 for the 1's. I thought Horwitz outplayed McIntyre today by a good margin - easy enough behind a pack going forward as GPS did today - but he is obviously regarded highly enough by the "poo-bahs" to stick him in at f/back ( and he obviously has the goods. too). I thought Milne, Foketi & Kellaway had pretty solid games across the park & outpointed their opposition. The inclusion of Stewart & Moera has obviously caused the re-shuffle - let's hope they live up to everyone's expectations ! I suspect that Foketi can consider himself extremely unlucky and I hope he shows what he is really capable of in the next few weeks.
Not much to say about the forwards....with the exception of the prop discussion above - which I will leave to those more in the know.

LAST YEAR! You base your opinion on last year! I'm sorry but there has been improvement.

My friend it's 2012. I seen his games last year and yes he was made to look foolish, however please note who he was actually up against, because that QLD lad went on to play for AUSTRALIA A a couple of weeks later.
