Being good looking and able to play Rugby... This kid has it all... :)
On a serious note, with a name like Cornelson, he was never going to play tiddly winks was he? Haven't seen him but will keep an eye on him. Newbie? Lee? any Guff on this lad?

like his father cornelson is an excellent player, I'm guessing now that TSS would love him back in their team, will do wonders in the line outs for QLD 1, his partner in crime Koryzac (?) is also of similar ability to him, both players i believe to contain definite qualities fit for an Aus schoolboy but as i do not no what other states players are like i wouldn't like to make any conclusions as yet

Both NSW locks are good: Harry Rorke who started for Oz A Schools and was named on the bench for the main team v NZ but could not play.

I also rate the other fellow: Ofiu Maneku.

On a more serious note.
Schools Rugby Tribune shows a controversial article on the selection process south of the border
http://schoolstribune.com/victoria-state-team-named-for-aussie-nationals-p612-1.htm

Thanks for that stem - its a good story.

On the one hand it's good that lads from outside the rugby schools formed the bulk on the Victorian team.

On the other it is unclear what the selection process was.

Their U/16 team played above their weight last year but not a lot of them are in the Opens team this year.

But let's look at them play first before we give an opinion of the selection process.

Victoria were impressive and really gave NSW I a scare until coaches ran on the big guns. Dempsey and Whitely worked hard
NSW II an easier day with a lot of boys in blue able to shine No 11 Jones had a good game ad did the 15 Porch
Qld I Placid No15 impressive ball runner and their centres puched through holes well
Qld II No13 was devastating in his defensive hits and his ball running.... straight and hard all day

Anyone know where they are posting the results for these championships

Here in Gaggerland.

If you have some patience, I am relatively sure that Uncle Lee will be posting his usually very comprehensive game day wrap ups shortly.

Why would you want to go anywhere else?

Hi all, Uncle Lee must be on the cream sherry by now with Westlake and Newbie as they were all there at the game.
Game 1 ACT vs Qld II 19-31
The score actually leaves a bit to the imamagination. It was a game that never really hit the heights that it could overall.
Players to watch.
ACT.
12 Keith JR Morgan. Can bust a tackle and doesn't get beaten on the outside.
13 Andrew Robinson. Good feet and knows how to hit as well
15 Montana O'Neill. Deserved better today but a good hit out (great name too)
QLD II
4 Philip Potgieter. Great in the air and general work rate.
13 Nigel Tanuvasa. Put the 2nd biggest hit of the day on and then stayed with the lad(victim) until help attended
20 Nicholas Richards. When he came on he added spark to the loosies.
3 Graeme Wessels. Can any of my Northern friends elaborate? Only on for the half and a bit, but knows the dark art well and does the stuff that a good THP does exceptionally well.

Next games review on its way

Thanks heaps for the reviews on the games, really interested in how the teams are going and who you believe are the best performers in each game.

Game 2 NSW v VIC 37-13
No real highlights but a massive lowlight with 13 Kemu Valetini doing his shoulder or collarbone. A real shame as he was a real shiner in amongst it. NSW scrum got bounced about early but came back later. A great intercept off a flat pass for Vic 10 to score stunned a lot of the crowd too. Overall, too many players wanting to stake too many claims
players to watch
NSW.
5 Ofiu Manukeu. Faultless in all facets of play.
9 Fabian Natoli ( another great name) when he came on in the 2nd half, things happened.
14 Andrew Kellaway. Not a winger, but the thinking mans footy player.

VIC
7Jack Porrit. Calling him annoying is a compliment. Classic play on many occasions
13 Kemu Valetini. Pre injury to contain the vaunted NSW back line. Did it. Get well soon
14 Bill Valetini. These boys have to related, but either way. Can play, big strong off the 10 shos inside and out, then runs over them.
15 Junior laloifi. No fear, fast and steps off both feet. Don't know about kicking game, because I don't think he did.

game 3 to follow
