Thanks Whatever. Much appreciated! I'm sure the blonde haired lad you were talking about was Scott Hogan. Played last year too. When he was on the team fired, when he was off; a wet blanket!

I hope there not mucking this lad about again! In saying that I do know he suffered some serious back injury while playing in the HMC for Parramatta this year!

Number 19 blonde headed kid is the boy I am referring to also. His name is Tristan Green. A dual rep. I noticed the lift in the team remarkably when he was on.

The #21 from the NSW CCC Under 16 rugby team at the NSW Schools U16 tournament at Knox College Grammar was listed in the programme as Scott Hogan.

As I just stated as an Independant with several years at grade level myself and scouting talent over 10 yrs I believe the youngest kid on the team Tristan? (It took a little investigative research ) & as I also noticed him in the league selections is with further technical development the one I am keen to earmark as a player to watch. Does anyone know if this kid will be returning for selections next year? I did hear possibly league?

I'm not sure what "independent" means Hammo?. Tristan, seemingly is from Corrimal, Holy Spirit. I don't know any details about him.

I know CCC were poorly treated re: NSW School selections - none.

No: 21 was definitely Scott Hogan (program) (Patrician Brothers, Blacktown) - played half/five-eighth. I believe he also played in the Parramatta HM side which won the comp this year, he would be 16, so will not be back unless in plays in the opens next year.

Whatever, independent meaning I was not there as a supporter of any representative side or child, independently interested in observing few boys & there current pathways.Along with the few above mentioned this boy in particular impressed me Showing a technical talent I will be interested in following. As I know very little of him also I was interested to know if any others did. I believe he is a country representative also, may I stand corrected he was not player 21? (player 19)It is clear I have confirmed I have the Correct player (Tristan Green) also watched him in CCC 15's league.

You'll need to keep an eye on him via school (Holy Spirit, Corrimal). If he is 15 he should back up next year, might also be a chance for Illawarra's HM cup side in 2103, if he is a dual coder. Good luck to him.

#19 for CCC in the programme was Tristan Green.

There was at least one other U15 year old in CCC U16, #4 Nathan Gittoes from up the Central Coast somewhere. Not sure if he will be at a city school next year or not. If the former we won't be seeing him returning for CCC next year.

Definitely a couple of the looseys and 2nd rowers were impressive in the CCC side but it was hard to identify the individuals. As an old-time back, I was able to pinpoint the two boys previously mentioned who I thought were unlucky.

Hammo, you just need to hit reply on the bottom right of the quote - the quote will then appear and you type your reply under that.

Will be closely watching these boys as they have natural raw ability & what's so interesting for me is these boys delivered a strong performance against the GPS schools with not much in it. As an 'underdog' in my school years & raised in a league dominated catholic school I personally found it difficult to be noticed at this level, it was other programes offered that help me achieve higher levels. My interest is helping these boys be noticed equally. my question is also if these boys were developed in the same frame as the Gps boys school training programme who wouldthe stronger players be?

Interested in Nathan was informed he just missed out on the country selections? I am informed he will be attending a city school next year.

I have no doubts if they only played and trained for union they would put the GPS to the sword.

But probably about half of CCC are league players who only play union in an after season school comp (3rd term); some of these league boys are also in the ARU's JGS program (summer training from November until around early March). In other words, the ARU is interested but NSWRU and NSW schools are not.

in speaking to several boys throughout the trials some were confused to which code & path they should take, few were asked to choose between schools & country, each believing they have the better pathway, JGS program is an excellent program in my opinion.

The following boys I believe would make exceptional union players; but accept I don't know much about tight 5 play (props, hooker, 2nd rowers (?)) so I will leave that to others:

Havea Katoa All Saints Catholic Boys College (Liverpool, Secondary School)
Kieran Bonin Holy Spirit College (Corrimal, Secondary School)
Milad Ferris Marist College (Eastwood, Secondary School)
Nathan Gittoes St Edwards College (Gosford, Secondary School)
Scott Hogan Patrician Brothers' College (Blacktown, Secondary School)
Sukamanu Raki Patrician Brothers' College (Blacktown, Secondary School)
Topiese Jnr Taufa Marist College Kogarah (Bexley, Secondary School)
Tristan Green Holy Spirit College (Corrimal, Secondary School)

Do you know of any of these boys are in the JGS program?

Hammo,

All the Illawarra boys in the CCC team were in the Illawarra Academy of Sports program which is part of the Junior Gold program i.e. the train Nov to March (the academy games is the end).
Tristan Green, the 2 Ford boys Brodie and Nathan, Liam Antrobus, Keiran Bonin. Keiran's mother is Irish and Keiran spent last summer Ireland playing rugby in Cork so he wasn't in last summers program. All play league on Saturday and union on Sunday.

I think the IAS is an excellent program you can see an huge difference between players who know how to play rugby and those that are talented league players, but keep taking the wrong options.

I strongly agree with you that the CCC could put the GPS to the sword if they took rugby seriously, they have to drop the idea of converting league players to union at this level (this should go on at a lower level) it's too fast and committed there is no time to think about what you should be doing, you have to know instinctively. This can only come with lots of training and playing rugby.

Therefore add another 4 to the ARU JGS; but as noticed dual coders - not liked by NSW Schools.
