Its great to see another ISA team giving St Augustines a touch up, givent the results across all grades on that weekend the competition is likely to continue for a few years

It would be great to see some of the shiney white ones loose their virginity to maintain this, maybe one day! or will we find they are a bit more like tele evangalists and commit the sins where they can't be seen until the tearful confesion

Given Augustines proximity to Brooky such malice may well be accepted as a condition of existance

I know its league and should only be viewed with contempt, but the MCS competition is a competition of top league schools: Fairfield Ryde Parramatta Campbelltown Maryong etc. League clubs have been paying school fees for selected students for a long time, the schools across this sub association have been rewarded acordingly and I am sure a few school yard players that would not have had exposure to this quality have been sucked along in the draught posibly attaining hieghts they may not otherwise have reached and if not at least won some bragging rights

Hi Hugharse, top name, going to be an interesting game between Stannies and Auggies this weekend ? Every team has its ups and downs, depends on who is injured how much training they did the previous month. There are top players in all the ISA teams, as I said earlier. Good to see the ISA comp is alive and well. Sometimes I believe some coaches get their tactics wrong and others are running hot, all the players are developing well.

That's just not true. They have been "sponsoring" () economic hardship or academic opportunity scholarships for years now. Well, that's what they were called during my time a St Greg's, Campbelltown. It just so happens that the guys that receive them are talented footballer's linked to those same clubs sponsoring them.

I noticed one of the sponsored ecenomic refugees named in the Aus u15 league list is motoring up to ryde now, though some one with the same name is regularly signing on for Coogee u/15 in union i believe.

The risk I supose of picking up early sprouters is their sprouting stops and they get caught by others. in just a couple of years their peers go from looking at a giants shoulders to looking at the top of the 'fro. Part of the investment risk I suppose

The ISA teams are far enough flung to partner significant clubs in such sponserships but unfortunately the money isnt there at that level. It is all a little to impure for some as well

It is school footy and the development of confident, ballanced and healthy young men should always be the first priority. Physical Mental and Spiritual. The reality of life is that even if Mumsy and Dady do pay your school fees they cant (shouldn't be able to ) buy a spotin the 1st team.

When Brett Papworth wanted to return to rugby after league I believe he was not allowed to play above 3rd grade. I dont think it was a hand full of years later union was throwing money at playes to swap to the code

Regular Rugby playing schools should not be embaressed about persuing excellance

Can't see Pius & Andrews winning this week. Pats will get home at Stratfield. Stannies vs Auggies at Bathurst .... I did read an earlier post suggesting the Auggies bubble has burst but looking at the body language of their players at CastleHill after the Oakhill match, I think there is still a lot of pride left in the team. My darkhorse all year been the boys from Orange --- they are still there travelling under the radar screen while all the talk been on Auggies & Oakhill.

When an injustice occurs that affects you then 2 options are available. You can bend over, loosen the strides and bite the pillow or you can rail against the decision and put forward an argument that brings attention to the problem in an effort to stop it going ahead or being repeated. I make no apolagy for defending these kids against one of the most disgraceful decisions I've seen in 40 + years of rugby involvement. If it is seen by others as over the top then so be it, you pick a team and support them. Hopefully it won't ever happen to a goup of kids that you know. Of course if you're benefiting from the decision then it's easy to take a righteous position and defend it. Those who perpetrate these acts have snuck away again without any retribution. For 5 years I have been arguing against a procedure of selection that on most occasions gets it wrong and has limited ISA rugby to the poor cousin status, barely above that of rugby strongholds such as CCC (no offence intended Newbie). Remember that a lot of these kids put a lot of effort into achieving their goals and to have that denied by adult incompetence, politics or other agendas is wrong on so many levels. It was wrong back then as it was shown to be wrong on saturday when people got to see both teams on equal terms and with one a clear winner despite the lies (holiday training camps and 6 week breaks) and excuses (the crowd support and wanting it more) that the Augustines sycophants put forward to soften the impact. Pleaseeee.

Talk of things changing in the future are not likely to eventuate and if the same people are in charge again next year then there's a good chance of the full compliment of 15 Augustines players being selected. Make no mistake, Augustines are a very good rugby school/side and are deserving of respected levels of representation but they aren't as good as they think they are, as evidenced by last weeks result. If this years Oakhill team weren't worthy of a I's rep jumper what makes you think they'll pick players from Pat's, Stannies or anywhere else considering the current gap in playing strength between the competing sides. Apathy plays a large part in allowing people to make these types of decisions and the comments on this forum to move on, while understandable, shows that you can indeed get away with it as those who are not directly affected tire of being reminded.

So the dogs are barking and the caravan moves on. Augustines get the prize of the individual achievement of higher level representative selection while Oakhill get the team prize and contend themselves with knowing that history will record a result that puts into doubt the validity of said selections.

As the intellectual validity of the Watches responses have now reached lower than expected levels of reply worthiness, by playing the man rather than the fact, I think I'll take some of the righteous advice he so freely thinks he is worthy of dispensing and follow the caravans path. While I wish ISA well for the future I fear it's ability to shoot itself in the foot will stop it realising its full potential.

Dewy Bozella was the victim of an injustice. He served 26 years for a crime he didn't commit. Not being selected in a rep team is hardly something to keep ranting about. Yes the selection process is flawed in all sports, but remember the kids picked in front of more qualified contenders didn't solicit their spot. Therefore continued criticism of players from certain schools is unfair to the BOYS who have tried their hardest to compete. I wonder why the vitriol from some of the posters in this forum. As I mentioned before Get A Life.

Hi everyone, Auggies 27 Stannies 24 with 10 to go was Auggies 12 Stannies 24in the last minute 24 all Auggies kicked a penalty goal tp win. Those Stannies players are good but lose focus in the last 10 when they are ahead they forget you have to play every minute in the moment. Glad to see the competition is close.
