It was Meh, it wasn't as crap as people want to make out, just Meh.
Yeah the all blacks bombed a couple but so did the wallabies. So 8 in the end is probably a fair reflection. Both teams interrupted the others midfields, dagg was the real difference, Beale failed to inject himself in any memorable way.
The NZ centers were no better than there counterparts for mine.
Agreed we lost it in the breakdown at contact, compared to the world cup semi though we were lightsyears better, probably on passion alone as our technique is still far behind the kiwis.
The kiwis pack are far better than ours at isolating players. Pocock was taken out of the game, every ruck he seemed to be put on his back and taken out of the next play. Something the wallabies lacked.
That said, I don't really think anyone in the wallabies team played badly enough to say thy were useless. Beale had a very off night by his standards, but that's the exception of the last couple of years so no point changing. For mine any changes have to be made to make the team stronger, lots of agenda based suggestions here like usual, but do we really have people that are gonna change the problem areas, not just changes for change sake.

Then rationally discuss why they didn't play well and then rationally suggest with reason a player we have that can accomplish more without providing weakness in another area.
Nt just you slim and I'm not picking, a lot I people on this thread playing the man as such, if you want a change in personnel, I think you should also provide reasoning rather than player x would have done better.

Sometimes, but if you watch the replay again you will also see plenty of times where he was ready, looked up and saw that the forwards werent ready to take the ball. The slowness of our re-alignment was astoundingly poor!

I thought Genia played pretty well. Ditto for Ioane and Sharpe. Your scrum went pretty well, Rolland was just playing turn and turn about with the penalties. Barnes went OK apart from a couple of brain farts early on. The breakdown was not pretty, but then it never is against the All Blacks.
Very few teams beat the All Blacks, even at home. I would wait until I saw the results against the other teams before I got too distraught.
Ps. There has been a strange lack of comment about the referee, who I thought was appalling. The best thing that can be said was that he was equally bad for both teams. He kept coming back for marginal and immaterial offences, particularly at the lineouts, and many of his ruck/tackle offences showed a lack of understanding for the game. It's a bit surporising because I generally think Rolland is a good ref, but he was well off his game last night.

My thoughts on Rolland is that if everyone reffed like that rugby would be much better for it.
Yep. It was way too slow, mainly because no-one was ready to receive the ball. The ABs always have someone hitting the ball up hard, with at least one on the hip. We almost never do this. Cooper directs traffic better in this way, insofar as when he wants the ball and what he wants people to do. But if the forwards are lolling around like Brown's cows, I'm not sure even he could get them organised.

That's where his connection with QC (Quade Cooper) comes in. Also having Barnes at 12 would offer an alternative first receiver. The line was not being organised.
I cannot believe that they were not fit enough to re-group. The pace of the game was not extraordinary.
Mind you the ABS applied a huge amount of pressure almost every time we were in possession. I am sure it was very rough going for our boys out there.
Let's face it though, this is not the first time our backs have operated behind a pack under the gun.
