That is a semantic argument that misses the point of what he said. If (we accept what you're saying) and make any changes, they would be:

"When I look at the mining industry my first thought is always: 'Those massively profitable companies that make money by taking something owned by all QLD'ers, and sell it internationally need more assistance."

Campbell is really getting smoked from all sides, the Courier Mail is really giving a lesson in manufacturing consent at the moment, everyday they run a negative piece with comments section for people to heap more on the LNP.

How long till he has to step aside for Springborg?

I should have learnt growing up in the Joh years. But (sadly) I am proved wrong once again. The politics of division, elitism, ignorance of social development and the wanton lust for power is not only accepted but encouraged by the majority.

Obviously I am in the minority and that makes me sad.

Not that the two sides of politic is very much apart in Australia, they are politicians after all. Just wish both sides would stop pandering to their special interest groups and did what was right for our country.

Makes me a little sick the charm offensive Newman and Abbott are on. It shows a lot of disrespect for us voters. It reminds me of that bazaar interview on Today Tonight just before the 2007 election where Howard and Costello went on and portrayed their devotion to each other like an old married couple when we all knew they hated each other.

Lior, you are obviously not reading enough of the above posters or media. Don't you know that Newman, a widely supported Lord Mayor of Brisbane by both sides of politics, has become the devil incarnate as Premier?

Apparently.

The peak body for the Queensland development industry, the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA), has applauded new legislation designed to streamline the development process and cut red tape.
13.9.12
Amendments to the Sustainable Planning Act, introduced to Parliament today (13 September) will seek to reduce complexity and general inefficiencies in the planning system which have plagued development, hampered housing supply and damaged affordability.

UDIA Queensland President Matthew Wallace said the changes represented a good first step in delivering a planning system that would be more efficient, effective, predictable and transparent.

"The Institute has made strong representations to the Government relating to the problems which have been endemic to the planning system," Mr Wallace said.

"Over the past decade Queensland's planning system has become increasingly complex and costly, adversely affecting housing supply and affordability," he said.

"It is gratifying to see that our communications to Government have not fallen on deaf ears. In fact, some of the changes to the legislation are consistent with a pre-election UDIA document outlining 22 recommendations to improve the planning system.

Newman and Co are not selling themselves, they are losing the contest of ideas in an environment where no alternative ideas being put forward and where no credible opposition exists. Don't feel sorry for them, they are destroying themselves.

Maybe they are trying to actually spend time implementing changes, rather than 'selling themselves'? Novel idea in Australian politics, I know.

Flegg is going to sue his former staffer for "loss of income", now the CM is reporting Jason Woodforth has convinced 30 of his LNP colleagues that Flouride in the water is "brain altering poison". Mr Woodforth is promoting healthier diets instead??????. Some councils in Q are preparing to opt out of Flourine treatment because of some bill this week that was passed that could allow them. Doesn't matter that the water in the pipes is shared between councils and will be really expensive to change so one area gets untreated and the other treated. Clive was on the radio yesterday talking about a rail project he had bid to pay for but now the taxpayers will take all the risk on......in a time Cando is saying we have a Spanish style economy.

This idiotic stuff is coming out daily. They are killing themselves. The only way I can see the LNP surviving is to get rid of Nicholls Seeney and Cando and bring back the Borg.

The Courier Mail has done a complete back flip and started calling him "can't do" .
Things are looking decidedly pear shaped up here.

Are you serious? That is the dumbest conspiracy I have ever heard. Who elected that clown? He shouldn't be allowed within 10km of any parliament.

If the QLD government isn't going to well in the ratings right now, the last thing they should be doing is getting rid of important health policies on the basis of complete and utter nonsense.
