The ARU and its employees come in for a bit of criticism from time to time.

In the spirit of similar threads already started and to channel Waratah Jesus:

Just to balance out the multiple discussions on what's wrong with ARU, John O'Neill, The ARU Board, and Key Employees, such as David Nucifora and the High Performance Unit Staff, The Media Unit and the Trophy Cabinet cleaner, and receptionist at St Leonards, I thought it time for people to give some credit to things that go right.

Rules:
1) post nothing negative
2) post something positive
3) Post nothing sarcasticly positive

Good Examples
The Women's Rugby 7's "Talent Quest" recruitment campaign for Rio is inspired marketing and should result in opening up the game to a big talent pool.

The financial support given to the Australian Schoolboys Tournament is money well spent and a good investment in the future of the game.

Try not to post sarcasticly, such as this example (tempting though they may be):
The Shiraz at the ARU Board Meeting was served at exactly the right temperature for a 20 year old classic red wine, and it complemented the Thai Style Roast Beef Salad perfectly.

Avoid these sort of posts (plenty of threads to express this sentiment already):
David Nucifora has no idea what he is doing and everything he touches turns to sh*t - The Faecal Touch.
John O'Neill's only interest in Rugby is how much the Rugby Union will pay him in this years annual bonus.

Discuss.

Cheika's a find. We now have the most successful superugby coach (Deans), the most successful HC coach (Cheika), the most successful Australian international coach (MacQueen), the most successful South Efrican international coach (White), and the best Australian coach atm (Link) all in our system. Now we just need to lure grumpy old man Henry over. And Mike Cron, obviously.

It is good that the ARU has assisted the Aust Schools RU with PR for the Fiji/NZ tour, and appears to have helped negotiate live coverage of the "Test" on Foxtel.

They took Test matches to Newcastle and the Gold Coast.

They lobbied the IRB to ensure we are not financially disadvantaged by the RWC.

The National Under 16 Tournament was extremely well run and a credit to the ARU organising team, and St Ignatious Riverview. IMHO it is money well spent on the future of the code. There is not much needed to improve the experience (and that is for another thread).

Thank you for the ongoing support of the Aust Schools Rugby Union, and getting the game covered live on Foxtel. Back to back victories over the Shaky Isles Schoolboys is no easy task.

Negotiating a new FTA TV deal which puts the game on a dedicated network with no competing code.

That's actually a pretty positive move. All we need to do now is make the ratings attractive enough that they might actually put up a competitive bid for Super Rugby in 2015.
