For those of us who've met our resident dick doctor: is cyclo Ed Cowan's older brother or what? I reckon it's the smile.;)

I think we might have another Cullinan/Warne relationship blossoming - between Rudolph and Lyon. Poor old Rudolph has no idea how to play Lyon, and has fallen victim to him every time he has batted this series!

Absolutely. This is what test cricket is all about.

Australia put themselves into a position to win the game but they still have to take the 20 minutes.

South Africa have already lasted a very long time and are almost there. Incredibly tense.

If this does end in a draw it would be one of the most exciting draws I can think of (and more exciting than the majority of tests that produce a reuslt).

Faf has been fantastic in his debut. 4 overs remaining. Lyons not easy to deal on this pitch. Faf need to take as much strike as possible.

Cricket Bokke saved this one. Now can we get through a test without some weird injury during the test. Great test and caracter shown in this one. Thats whats cricket is suppose to be. Batting at 10 runs a over on day 1 means absolutely nothing, its about occupyinmg the crease and winning sessions over 5 days that won the test cricket war.

What pitch can we expect from the Waca?

Well done South Africa. A gripping final day and great innings from Du Plessis and rightful MoM. We needed wickets from hilfenhaus today given Pattison was out, but they didn't come and it was too much load on Lyon and Siddle.

The boys tried valiantly but it wasn't enough. This feels like a loss for me and I would expect the Saffers to be licking their lips at the prospect of playing the deciding game at the WACA. That match will be over in 3 days or less I reckon, given that plenty of wickets have fallen there in Shield cricket this season (and last).

Siddle was wrecked by the end of the game. He gave it all. But kudos to Faf, he really showed that he is made for test cricket today. Suberb innings to deny us the win. Faf was totally exhausted by the end of the day as well, reminded me of the Dean Jones ton in India. I don't think he saved the match for us, but he was totally exhausted by the end of it that he was spewing on the field. Total courage.

Paarl, do you blokes have anymore batsmen like that floating about with an Aussie relative? Or has England snaffled them?

That was the most enthralling draw I have seen (and heard, god bless the ABC coverage) in quite a few years.

I had forgot to mention Siddle's effort. That man defines the word ticker. He's right up there in terms of Aussie quicks who have bled for the cause. He's not the most gifted of players but fucking hell he's got some go in him.

On the Dean Jones aside, that 210 was in the Tied Test in Chennai. A rather famous game and one of the gutsiest performances we've ever witnessed in Australian cricket.

du Plessis was magnificent today.

Faf have been around for some time in the One Dayers/T20 versions.

Pretty sure Tahir will be replaced by Robin Petersen who have been around the block for some time and who is also a good batter, strengthen our tail even more. Not sure about Kallis, I'll pick him just on his batting alone. Kleinveldt also put out a marker with his efforts yesterday but I think Philander will be back. McClaren is on his way to Aus. He is also versatile but is more a bowler/batsman all rounder.

So the Waca is a bowler pitch? Winning the toss again important but we do have the attack suited for this.

I like the prospect of Starc at the WACA. He will be out to impress, and should provide a good deal of variety. The bummer is that we go to Perth without arguably our best quick (Pattinson).

Never mind then, I am sure we will produce another quality batsmen to hammer you guys pretty soon. At least we have decent depth in our cricket!

On Tahir Paarl, I have heard that the WACA is the perfect place to bowl himself back into some form. Please don't drop him, he is a gem! ;)
