Haha! That is looking at it positively! I agree with the surprise factor, especially the one against Argentina. Whatever it is,I would like to think they are working on it behind the scenes. If they weren't before, they should be now. I did like that we used Taps to clear a few times last night. Varying the kicker coming out of our 22 may help the problem. If the defence has more than one kicker to worry about?

Yeah Taps kicked well I thought, and gained some good yardage too. I couldn't tell (I was down the other end), was it Lance with the boomer in the second half that gained us a solid 50m? Whoever it was, it was a cracker.

Oh for the days of Paul McLean when a 50 metre touchfinder was considered a bit substandard.

Is it rose coloured nostalgia but pretty sure that he could be called upon to hoof the pill downfield 60-70 metres?

Different ball, different style of kicking, they seem to favour a more accurate style over length. Latham, for example, had a huge torp, but players these days seem to prefer not to use a torp as it is difficult to kick an accurate torpedo.

Regarding the game, was out for family stuff and missed it, then only caught bits and pieces in the replay. Funnily enough, in those bits and pieces the Force seemed dominant and Reds error prone, so by the sounds of it they were microcosms for the whole game.

Well deserved win to the Force then. They had deserved a win so far, and their inconsistency had cost them. Congratulations Force fans, just a shame that it came when it did! Hopefully the Force continue to upset some more teams this season.

For the Reds, hopefully it gets better when Horwill, Digby, Shipperley and A. Finger are all back. As has been mentioned, we have to admit that the Reds are not the team of 2011 and do not have the depth as hoped. The Reds are a long way off the pace right now, which the Brumbies are so beautifully setting.

BTW, my understanding that Graham's primary influence at the Reds is defence. Graham has been the defensive coach of other teams, so it's not a first for him. I think most Reds fans would have preferred Tattsy Taylor's defensive work, but unfortunately not all things last.

Yep that was Lance. Pretty to watch that kick. Man he is just an all round solid player.

And Ash, I think our defence was mostly good except for around the ruck at times. Alby found too much space there at times. It looked a lot like the trial games in that respect. Our goal line D was brilliant but!

Quite proud of the fellas tonight - they copped no small amount of grief after the Kings game and are progressing.

They've always played with a huge amount of heart. Now they're playing with starch - a backline that's coming together and torrid defence.

Where does the loss leave the Reds?

Still in second on the conference ladder. The loss sucked and the Reds stank though I have full confidence the boys will respond well to this.

Full congratulations to the Force. They did a fantastic job of keeping the foot on the throat of the Reds. That was a much earned win and lap it up Force fans. I hope your boys can carry that confidence into next weekend and the stage is set for your first home game of the year.

Bloody foxtel. Series link didn't work. It only recorded 3 games. 1 not being the force reds game. Someone needs to help me. Where can I watch it? I've looked online but the 3 games I can find to "purchase" are not the ones my foxtel neglected to record. Please help

^^^^ Foxtel sometimes replay the game in the wee small hours to fill space. Check out the schedule for the next couple of days.

You may have to wait a day or two but you should be able to get the game (eventually).

I had the same problem. It was because some games were on Fox Sports 1 while the other games were on Fox Sports 2. You need to series link games on both channels to get them all.

Anyway, the Reds Force game is being replayed 2pm Tuesday on Fox Sports 2.

Ill be away by then. Looks like it might be a week before I can watch it. So annoying. Thanks for letting me know when it's being replayed.

I was at the game last night and was given a fairly unique perspective as I was sitting on the Reds Extended Bench!!!!!

First thing first - I am gutted that the one and only time I am ever listed on a Reds team sheet (and my name is in the program) we lost to the Force. I can only say though, you can't blame me because I didn't end up getting any game time surprisingly! :D With our 4:3 bench and Simmons going for a sleep in the first minute I thought I was in for a shot but alas, it was not my night.

.

Did you and/or your mates 'leave' with the seat covers? They were missing post game and there's still 5 more home games to go.

Hey RugbyReg me and my mate grabbed ours, but I'm not sure about the other guys as we didn't know them prior to last night. We assumed that they were probably something that got replaced each time anyway and wanted to re-live the awesomeness of the day/evening every day at work by draping them over the old desk chairs! :D In hindsight though, that was probably a dumb assumption and I guess we just got caught up in the excitement.

Happy to get them back to you guys this week. Where is the best place to take them?

Yeah it does seem that way USARugger. Not sure why though. Has he slowed? Is he just pushing the envelope too much? Buggered if I know.

Quad seems to spending more time in all of his decision making this season, not only in kicking. In past seasons it appeared he played more instinctively.

It's like as he's getting older he's thinking things out more, and that results in:
  • taking more time to make his moves, and
  • often making the wrong move
Possibly, he's just trying to do too much, rather than letting the majo just come to him?

Firstly - Congrats to the Force - they played to their strengths and found our weaknesses.

Our kicking was poor. QC (Quade Cooper) just doesn't have the mojo anymore - really think he will strugle to make the wallabies (or should). He is there for his "X" factor. He used to break the line every so often or at least half break it and pass to another. He does neither now!
Saia went high, got shrugged off and a try ensued - Gilly had already overrun the player and couldn't recover to make the tackle.

Thought Frisby paniced a couple of times. Whislt Genia can be forgiven for a lacklustre performance to be fair he has been out for several months and will only get better and better. The thing with Genia is that he doesn't panic when facing a tough decision.

Our backs also seem to lack penetration.

Reckon Link tore some new arseholes after the game. It was a huge game for the Reds, one that should have been won and won well.

The Force came out to play and play they did. Again, Congrats.
