Thank the gods Keebra's not there and we don't have to put up with how easy the game is and little prep they had to do or how they really don't play rugby and its just a pastime for them.

Jaghond, You are probably right. I usually cut and paste stuff (efficient or lazy, take your pick) but I can't find any reference to Investec on the website, so I think it must have been force of habit. They were sponsors from last year weren't they.

Apologies to the official "Supporting Partners" of this event Ultimate Sports Nutrition and Body Armour by Milford.

Hugh Jarse, how did this tournament of teams get chosen or picked? how come there is not more GPS and/or CAS schools participating, I'm sure many schools would've liked a show of players there, would be a good warm up for the lads but i can see why injury could be prone.

Pretty sure it is invitation only.

There seems to be an attempt to "regionalise" the teams:
Scots - Hosts.
ACT 1 x Private, 1 x Public
WA x 1
NZ x 1
PNG x 1
NSW Country x 1
NSW Metro Private x 2
NSW Metro Public x 1
QLD x 1 from QLD GPS comp
LLoyd McDermot - Defending champs

Could be argued that the Sydney Private Schools are over represented with 3 teams (Hosts, 1 other GPS, and 1 CAS), and should be 2 x QLD teams and only 1 x ACT.

A second QLD slot may have been given up for PNG or NZ team.

Any number of other schools could probably send one or more teams that would be good enough to finish on the "podium", but the list seems fair enough. Scots organised this. They can invite whoever they want. It is not as if they are promoting this as the "National 7's Champs".

Hugh Jarse I reckon its like most "invitational" events in most amateur sports: if you want an invite ring up the organisers.
Unless youre a dickhead they'll invite you - and sometimes they will even if you are:D

It would have been an ideal opportunity to bring the Youth Olympic 7's boys back together, or at least the Sydney based boys.

And now that Fox have decided NOT to show any of the Tokyo 7's live - this tournament might give the die-hards (like HJ ??) something worth travelling across the Bridge for.............at least it's free !

Wouldn't be surprised to see me there.

I know several of the boys who will be playing.

Need to see if I can fit in a Shute Shield trial match somewhere as Tahs on Sunday.

I'm surprised Auggies, who embrace the term running rugby in all that it represents doesn't play in these 7's events

Is this year clean?

As far as I'm aware Scots has only had one rugby player who came from Auggies, and that was Jim Stewart. If that's accurate, they're hardly plundering the Northern beaches talent. Your comment seemed to be stated as fact so I thought you actually had some info to the contrary.
