Sydney traffic usually is classified as being a rectal pain. Most unusual for it to present as gastro-intestinal in nature

This place is just full of comedians!

Its like that poor old New Zealand farmer, he did a thousand good things during his life and no-one noticed, however the day he had quasi-conjugal relations with one sheep the whole world knew!

Interesting thoughts on the back row of GPS1's as last year the GPS 1's had similar issues with players not wanting to do the "Meat and Potatoes " stuff. There were more than one boy who just wanted to go running around looking like he was an extra 12!

Brian, it wasn't so much the guys not doing the meat and potatoes, just none of them stood out. Last year you had Mitch Whitley & Jack Dempsey leading from the front, well back row, this year, the leader in the forwards was Crichton, probably followed by Sandell and maybe Hanigan, otherwise the rest very quite. Maybe not seeing them is a sign they were doing their job, but i would have expected them to hold out the CAS forwards a bit better had they been there?

And Sorry Lee, feel free to pinch any of my stuff if it helps finish your stuff off.

Also does anyone know if they are likely to make changes (or when they announce if they have) for the Friday games?

New team lists were just put up on the AAGPS site. Only changes are in 2s with Cooke (E) coming in for the injured Hunt (I) and Hutchinson (I) coming in for Davies (K). Menzies (I) and Prassas (N) come into the 3rds side

Your exactly Right, the CAS management always seem to mispell his name every year - Its FAAOPE Junior SATIU.

I for one hope the lad goes that extra step this year. The personal adversity he has faced in recent times would shatter most of us, but he has pulled through! Trinity his school (and those who were instrumental in getting him there - take a bow Mr Clarke) should also be congratulated!.

Funnily enough Ted, you mentioned the men from lat year that came off with clean jerseys. They knew that to shine above the likes of a Michael Gunn that they HAD to be seen. It worked for them , good luck to Dempsey as it got him to the tragically underperforming 20's

Good point, and the problem only gets worse post school. In a Colts team that the Jarses are associated with, there are about 10 forwards who fancy themselves as loose forwards and only 2 props. In the back division, they all firmly believe that they are #10's, #15 or #14. All gravy, and no meat.

Slightly off topic, but how do you rate the standard of Colt's 1's compared to 1st XV?
Obviously Colts is more physical, I am talking about the overall skill level and structure.

Your photography is coming along nicely Lee!!

Actually, in the main game I had the camera accidentally on the wrong setting. I meant to have the dial on the "sports" setting with an action icon, but when I got home I saw that I had it on the "close-up" section with a flower icon.

Most of the photos were blurred except when the players were still, but a couple of the blurred ones in the blog looked arty like I meant to take them like that.

How are you with a video camera Lee ??? In my Videos, I have more footage of Bugs crawling on the ground and clouds in the sky than the actual game ! Lol.

Varies from Club to Club. The big 4, Uni, Wicks, Norths, Manly would eat 1st XV's for afternoon tea and then still be looking around for a 600 gramme steak and chips for Dinner. The bottom of the table teams in Colts 1 may have a decent game with the Schools.

Colts 2 is probably a good level to compare with, although again the standards vary from club to club and most clubs would beat the schools.

Colts 3 would be very good games and the better schools would probably be at the top of the table with the lesser schools around mid table.

Remember Colts are not constrained by the Under 19 scrum rules.

My Info. Is that both boys are Concentrating on NSWSRU. They have pulled out of NSWRL 18S Side. They have been Advised properly.
How did this slip through without comment??
I don't question the boys talent, or the boys themselves, they are only taking a path that is currently available, my problem is with the schools RU that allows this to happen.
I assume both these boys will make NSW and probably the touring Schoolboy side, possibly at the expense of some other very capable rugby players. They will enjoy all that has to offer, and then totally turn their back on the game when they land back in Oz after the tour. I'm sure the people that I work for would not allow me to go of and work for someone else, get a huge promotion, then dump them, and come back to the original employer!
Sounds like something the ALP would dream up!

The Aust Schools Selection system is shrouded in even more secrecy, with more eyes involved, plus they have the might of the ARU HPU resources behind them AND the game videos are analysed frame by frame.

While lots of Aust Schoolboy Players go on to be just average club footy players, selection into the Schoolboys is certainly treated as if it was a fairly high stakes poker game.

People still cry "we waz robbed".
How do they get a common philosophy though?
Often, IMO, the hardest selections are 4,5, 6 and 7, together with 8 sometimes and depending on how you want the backrow to play.
There are a range of views on what are the characteristics desired in 4 and 5 as for 6 and7, at least.
The sea gulling makes all this worse - i think it is spreading to kids who have been selected and still want to score the try. Its driving me nuts.
To some degree, the selection of a given player in these positions may be influenced by the way a game is intended to be played by the coach.
How is this sorted out or does the coach identify the characteristics he is looking to utilise?
i thought I had once seen the template on which the tick were to be placed - was it on here??
