The rules are against you.
And if 4 view coaches are entitled to go onto the field of play to assert their players rights (ignoring that they had fuelled it with cat calling) why not 4 new coaches to make sure their players rights are protected too.
Any advance on 8 people entering the field of play in contravention of all laws and rules?

Mate the MIC of rugby from both schools went on and the coaches of both schools went on. I don't see in any way how these inhibits safety. What do you expect the coaches to do just let these 16/17/18 year olds settle it themselves. If the coaches from both sides didnt come on god knows what could of happened.

My view is colored by what I heard the view coaches yelling at the ref, the new players and the view players. I also think they entered the field first and if so that proves my point to a degree.
I also hear there was a fair bit of biff in the 15As: justifiable red cards missed because no touchies.
Is there usually so much feeling between NC and SIC?

Which the view coaches abused the ref for because they were not red.
The player singled out as having thrown a bad pass by those coaches happened to be the one who threw the punch that started it.
I guess their needling worked.

I was not at the ground but really am shocked by the violence on the field, many of us have played GPS rugby and were passionate about the respective jersey that we wore (and still are) always had an inbuilt respect of the history and tradition of the GPS, the sense that you were fierce opposition but the mutual respect that had been built over 100 plus years of competition overrides any escalation from standard testosterone driven '' push and shove'' I liken this mutual respect between GPS sides to the All Blacks never having done the ''throat slit'' in the Harka to the Wallabies ....... to much tradition and history also dating back to WW1 and before prevents this ........ not dis-similar to the GPS - hope this is not a sign that the professional approach will see this tradition driven respect thrown out the window resulting in what we have seen on the field today, and what we saw in the TSC V SJC 16a clash last week from Scots........... the juxtaposition of this was seeing Scots sing happy birthday to New two weeks ago at the first 15 clash..............

I don't think the second was quite deserved, new coach was not very happy, did not catch the first one but apparently it was deserved. I wonder if anyone has noticed the unusual amount of carding of New players, throughout age groups, are the refs just more trigger happy or could new just be playing dirtier these days?

Did you see the New 3's?

Good performance from Grammar and unlike the 2nd's played in good spirit and closer than the final score would indicate. But a convincing win for Grammar nevertheless. I was impressed by Gorry ( 6 ) - worked tirelessly all game and Sutcliffe ( 15 ) ( who is very speedy and elusive! ). Also - kudos to Tan ( 11 ) who scored a double ( at least! ) and is a fine finisher!

It also needs to be taken into account that the players from both sides were ignoring the refs whistle and instructions. Carrying on, but with the presence of the MIC's and coaches on the field; the players then restrained themselves and acted in more control.

Since the ref had no real control over the players at that given time, the situation would have only escalated resulting in serious injury if the adults hadnt come on the field

The focus shouldn't be on the steps of intervention - for the safety of their respective teams - the coaches took, rather the acts of the players in the new side. Right from the kickoff the team had an appalling manner in which they conducted themselves, an outside back sin-binned for blatant shoulder charge within the opening minutes! It is disgraceful. The 5/8 is graced with an opportunity to debut in seconds, is legally tackled by View prop and can't cop it so carries on like an absolute *******. Newington teams - in particular are consistently succumbing to their aggression when there abilities aren't suffice against fair teams. This attitude does not have a place in the GPS.

Whilst a mutual agreement to end the game, there is no doubt that it was instigated by the New MIC who knew that the situation would escalate ( for his side's worse) and made the call to end the game, met with Riverview coaches approval.

I also heard newington coaches constantly yelling at the ref so don't act like they were immune. I believe the riverview coaches were well within their rights to protest when there team had been copping cheap shots all day i think the real evidence is shwon through the penalty count 12-2. Showing Newinton's ill discipline

The coaches are well within their rights to vent their frustration at an unjust call. It happens from both sides every game, and definitely shouldn't be seen as the instigator or catalyst to a boy copping a beating at the end of the match.

Was very impressed by the winger, despite being quite small his speed and hidden strength made up for it. Completely outclassed the New winger on that side and he made good use of overlaps, his finishing was brilliant, pity he has to play in the 3rd XV comp, same with the 6, 8, 5 and 15, who i was also impressed by

Ok game out of control and a Yr10 boy at risk (wtf is he doing there) - sounds like 38 people need some time out of the game.
