Oh and fuck off Mitchell starc. Learn to bowel a line and length, not that shit. Why Clarke kept him on I'll never know.

Michael Clarke should know better than to keep a bloke with shit coming from his bowels on the field.

Better off in the changing sheds until the bowel evacuation has been completed, then the bloke is in a much better condition to return to the bowling crease.

Well what a dramatic ending to a pretty boring test series. It was exciting and there were moments but all in all it wasn't extremely high quality and too many instances where wrong decisions were costly.

Australia will definitely be looking forward to the return series, the improvement they showed from Lords to The Oval was astonishing. They have some serious motivation now and will back their chances on home pitches, the message they sent last night was clear, win at any cost.

As for the English, they were dominant at times and clinical when they needed to be, held together by a very defiant middle order and a very good bowling attack. I'd suggest that they need to seriously work on their sportsmanship if they want respect from the Aussie crowds and media.

Can I just say; would love to see them try piss on the hollowed turf at the Gabba, MCG or SCG. 50,000+ pitch invaders wanting Stuart Broads head would be rather amusing.

84 days till it all begins again, minus the poor conditions, annoying english press and doctored pitches.

Bring it on!

What exactly did the Poms do that as such bad sportsmanship?

Please don't cite Broad not walking. Most Aussie batsmen do not walk. The end. Hypocrisy. Lehman himself never walked. (For the record I believe batsmen should walk)

Also please don't cite slow play. Why the heck should they step up a game that to them means sweet fuck all. If you are behind, you need to make the play. Everyone knows that. What makes Aus so special that the opposition owes them?

Years of perpetual arrogance has caught up with Australian cricket in a horrible way. The bitterness from fans and the Aussie media in this Ashes has been astounding. When you guys lose it is everyone else's fault. First a foreign coach, then the Pom media, then the Pom players, then the weather, then the pitches. Blah blah blah. Grow some balls.

The players sucked. Wear it. Every team hits the bottom of the cycle at some stage.

The rest of us had to suffer off-the-map arrogance from McGrath, Warne, Ponting, the Waughs for years.

Karma is a bitch. But she always comes back for a visit.

I hope Aus beats the Poms though. They need to drop off that high horse big time.

An Australian coach calling for fans to have a go at an opposition player is probably one of the most shocking things an international coach in any sport has done for years. And you want to talk about professionalism? Get real.

There is no god given right to be the best in the world. It is earned. I know it's hard for fans to accept this simple little fact.

I agree with most of that Blue, particularly the second last paragraph about Lehmann calling for Australian fans to have a crack at Broad this Summer. That was really poor form.

I don't agree with the bit about walking. I think it comes down to player choice and if anything I'd err on the side of telling people not to walk. It is up to the umpire to give them out. Walking or not walking is not really about sportsmanship though in my opinion. It is the cricket equivalent of playing the whistle.

The slow over rate stuff is frustrating but I think it is an ICC and an umpire issue not a player issue. Penalties need to be harsher and more strictly enforced. It is ridiculous that the extra half hour is pretty much mandatory now to get 90 overs bowled in a day. In first class cricket, teams get through 90 overs within the six hours of play without issue.

In spite of the 3-0 result, there were some positives to come out of the series. Firstly, Steve Smith looks like he might have turned the corner as a batsman and Watson may have started to work out his technique issues. Chris Rogers I think proved to most of us that he's test class and the kind of fighter we need at the top of the order. The bowlers mostly performed well too, especially Harris. The Poms never really took the game away from us with the bat, other than at Lords (and that was because of our own deplorable batting). The fielding and running between wickets was also of generally a high standard and that's something I see as a barometer for how a team is travelling. If those fall away then you usually sense the attitude of the team isn't where it should be. Clarke's batting and captaincy were alright, but not quite where you would want. In generally I've thought they've both been excellent over the last couple of seasons, so I don't think they're a big worry.

The form of the other players in the top six was a worry though. We had two tests in this series that we could have and probably should have won had the batsmen knuckled down and ground out the runs. It was so frustrating to see us chuck away potentially winning positions in those games with poor batting and/or an inability to cope with good bowling.

I'm probably more optimistic about the return series here than I was before Trent Bridge.

And Blue, I mostly agree about the arrogance of our press and sections of Aussie supporters. Let's face it, we're the All Blacks of cricket, with everything that goes with that.

Fixed that a little. :)

I have no real problem with it. That team under Waugh and Ponting in the earlier days was awesome. It was only natural that it got to their heads a little.

As a neutral I just hope that the next series is about the cricket because the last one was about all sorts of other nonsense.

:)

Actually if you look over the history of Australian cricket we have a clear winning record against every other nation and by some margin.

Anyway, back to the actual sport: I agree that the next series will hopefully be more about the cricket than all that other crap.

Apologies Blue, this whole losing thing is really not sitting well with me

Years of Australian dominance have turned into a complete mess, the future planning of the ACA truly horrible to the extent of being unforgivable.

Nonetheless, I have taken your comments on board and appreciate your feedback, I assure you us Aussie fans aren't as arrogant as it may seem on these forums - just frustrated and looking for someone to blame

I particularly agree with your comments regarding Lehmann, totally unprofessional and I will never support a coach who involves himself in that shit. That being said, I do have an issue with intentional time wasting. Not so much the Poms for doing it, but more so the umpires and ICC for letting them get away with it. Hopefully that gets addressed soon because it is a detriment to the game, it's slow enough to watch already and could be the death of test cricket.

What is your opinion on the urinating on the pitch thing?

Personally I think that is completely unacceptable no matter the circumstances. Clear sign of disrespect IMO and if it was done over here by us there would be a serious uproar. Even after winning more Ashes series than I can even bother to count, we never went that far.

Oh, and Stuart Broad is an even bigger wanker now.

Totally agree on time wasting. I don't care who does it, it's a blight on the game. People pay good money to see cricket paid, not a bunch of over-salaried show ponies standing around arms akimbo doing bugger all.

As for the pissing on the pitch, that's a new low for mine. An utter travesty. Cam Sutherland (former curator at the WACA) would have been within his rights to go over to those twits and kick 'em in the nuts.
