Maybe they could improve their HSC results if the asked their kickers to calculate the velocity of a rugby ball at altitude in comparison to sea level.

If only I could remember the names of the people who said TSC had done nothing wrong - "some compliance irregularities", "more defined approaches in developing blah blah".
Sounds a bit like Him Tawkes confession.
Sir Humphrey Appleby: TSC's most famous old boy?

So normal transmission has been resumed, hasn't it?

Anyone surprised?

I am surprised at the admissions from TSC.
If I could be bothered going back through this thread and seeing what was said about the independent review and how it found nothing untoward I'd probably be even more surprised than I am.
One wonders how if all the deep breathing and investigating uncovered nothing these compliance irregularities were brought to light.
And, as ever, what of the kids who suffered - in differing ways - because of the compliance irregularities offending the other schools (or, more accurately, some of the other schools) they were meant to play against.
If its fair dinkum you'd expect there to be some casualties since "compliance irregularities" = breaches of the code and there has never been a shadow a doubt what the code demanded. If the troops didn't know then the commander has failed to instruct them and they did------ well you know the rest.
But I'm not expecting any scapegoats: scapegoats are tomorrow's whistle blowers.

Scaraby, Rob Hart, Dodgyknee to name 3 - and there were others. Not only did they put their case most forcefully, but people who questioned and/or highlighted the issues at TSC were accused of making things up telling lies, Scots bashing and trying to destroy a school which had done nothing wrong.

The contents of the Hine letter suggest:

That members of Scots staff were approaching students of other schools to enrol at TSC,

Inducements or third party considerations were involved

Some aspects of their scholarship/bursary programme were non-compliant with the AAGPS code of practice

The Principal and Council of TSC have acknowledged these issues and have taken corrective action to comply.

we probably all know of parents and boys who have been "encouraged" to apply (often after playing at various state championships)... and not just by TSC.. and who have ended up on scholarships. the boys know it is because of their sports skills even if they also can apply themselves to their school work

True, but it's been suggested that it was a little more than "encouragement" at TSC. Even the school seems to have (belatedly) acknowledged this. With some justification, if Scots now have their house in order, they would expect all the others to do likewise. Today's Knox v New 1st XV result suggests the message has been understood at Stanmore as well - although to be fair they have never denied recruiting the 150th rugby team.

You know for all the mud slinging directed at scots ... All I can say is tend to agree with john singletons view on roger corbett. Never seen an indigenous scholarship come out of shore?

And this bloke pulver ... Gee talk about disconnected from reality ... Would love to see him seated in the souths 'burrow' .. But somehow I think he is bit more comfortable in various exclusive sydney clubs

And word I hear on this riverview headmaster is interesting too ... Think we have not heard last of dramas with the aagps

Oh well shame ... as tell you what I see some real rugby talent in the less fortunate parts of society ... Think kurtley beale, only better and maybe it won't happen now... Good on you Corbett/pulver .... Will be rugby leagues gain

And on the topic of slinging............

- are you seriously suggesting Shore imports it's rugby (or other sporting) talent? Evidence please.

- what exactly has Pulver got to do with TSCs penchant for dialling up a team?

- what is your point re Riverview Head?

- are you saying that the rugby world has lost the next KB (Kurtley Beale)+ because TSC has been called on flagrant breaches of the GPS code? If so, are you suggesting that the code be tossed aside as a result?

Could you back off?
This is seriously damaging rugby's credibility.

He also seems to have overlooked that fact that Scots have agreed that their scholarship/bursary programme was non-compliant. This hardly qualifies as mud-slinging:confused:.

It would seem that the slingers-of-mud were those who accused the 5 headmasters of running a baseless campaign, based on jealousy, against innocent Scots. I notice that none of that has been withdrawn.

I'm not quite sure what the rest of his post was about.

You've done better than me to get that much out of it:confused:

And now for the 2014 rugby season!
Even if "a more detailed review" at TSC found "some irregularities", I wonder if the 2014 1st XV contains students who benefited from such past irregularities?
I must have missed the second, more detailed review. The first one sure commenced in a blaze of publicity though.
