Jacques and Dewald even went to the same high school (according to wikipedia) and were probably in the same year.

The fact that their birthdays are two months apart should have clued me in to the fact that they're not brothers.

On a more serious note the Bulls have now also lost Dewald Potgieter for the remainder of the season (after losing Arno Botha, Spies and Stegmann as well) so they are fielding a back row with two mobile lock forwards. That is however four guys over 2m tall in the pack.

They played a completely non-bulls game in the first half of the Highlanders game. JL Potgieter took the ball really flat and they looked good shifting it.

I expect the Bulls to dominate the lineout but Tahs will have the better of our scrum.

The Bulls will in all likelihood play a rush defense to try and force the errors like the Honeybunch did.

Tahs to win but more out of desperation than anything else. The Bulls will turn this into a scrap so I don't expect pretty rugby.

The Bulls totally dominated the Clan scrum last week, very surprising because I rated the Clan scrum before that and didn't rate the Bulls scrum. I will be very happy if the Waratahs scrum breaks even this week. That probably means Kepu has to play 80, Ryan has been an absolute penalty magnet this year.

The Bulls looked good for the first 30 playing some excellent running rugby but then started dropping the ball with monotonous regularity. It was a most unBullslike performance and Potgeiter was almost Australian in his playing style. Maybe the camo dress gave them a license to play running rugby but I was seriously impressed. If this is how they are going to play going forward they will be great to watch, a Saffer team playing with ball In hand, whoever would have thought it?

This will be close if the Bulls can stop dropping the ball.

The Tahs' tries have dried up in recent weeks on the road and this is probably destined to be a close match up.

It undoubtedly will be unless the hosts can overcome the droppsies exhibited against both the Sharks and Force which cruelled any chance of victory or at least from earning a losing bonus point.

I like Braveheart81's suggestion on the Tahs' season thread that it's time to play Horne at 12. I'd suggest we do so even if Folau plays. Beale can play on the wing and have a roving commission in attack.

Horne had a number of very good outings at 12 last year and if he can maintain gains over the advantage line, Foley will have more time to bring his running game with Beale supporting him and Folau swooping on any opportunity that either creates.

Lindo, do you really need to ask this question of me? I'll be there & will have a QLD in tow & boy can she yell & heckle. I wouldn't want to be a Bulls supporter near us on Sat.

I think kurtley needs some time on the pine this week maybe in Tue back 20. Ryan is another who should come in only when needed. Horne should get a run.

He is the only Potgieter playing for the Bulls.

Dewald Potgieter is out for the season with a torn bicep muscle.

Potgieter is about the equivalent of Jones or Smith in certain parts of the north in South Africa,

Folau has been cleared to play by both the Waratahs and the ARU and has been named in the side.

Palu is apparently returning on the bench.

There is an embargo over announcing the team until tonight for some reason.

Hopefully the team rallies around Cliffy Palu and plays a massive one for him.

All those going to the SFS Saturday night - beware there is a Swans match on next door at the SCG which is due to FINISH at 7.15pm, while the Waratahs match is due to START at 7.40pm.

Should make for some interesting traffic management in Driver Ave.

So, if you are driving - get there early:)

They'll be a match for you then - casualty ward in Perth is looking a bit full...


Bringing the wife and kids so that this stage, no pubbage for me. Get there early for a parking spot, and might even have to leave before the end to avoid getting the utter shits at everything to do with that side of town on a Saturday night.

Spoken like a true Sydney sports fan.

If the Waratahs lead Australia in anything, it's percentage of fans desperate to beat the traffic.

(And that was all just spoken like a fan with no kids).

Although, there hasn't been much traffic to beat at Waratah matches of late.;)

You need a decent crowd to provide the traffic.
