Update on Dan Yakopo who suffered a dislocated knee in the reserve grade Parra match against Manly:

MRI reveals major, season ending knee damage - ACL and medial ligaments ruptured. His medial tore off the bone apparently. He also has quite significant cartilage damage.

That's cruel, whole preseason and then second game in.

Missed 4s - good to see Mitch Daniels back he was one of the most consistent in 2 last year and will no doubt climb back up through the grades.
Only saw the second half of 3s, rocked up and their line was still yet to be crossed. Bu they let in 2 second half try's.
2nds were very strong across the park, caused havoc with the Easts scrum, and had good body height and go forward in the forwards. Over 900kg forward pack was read out over the speaker (BIG FRONT ROW), and the loosies were all over the place.
Very smart back line in 2, Vaevae alternated with Greer to great effect.

1ns very dominant game, the only points leaked were from something strange on the other side of the paddock. Looked like a donation from high up in the saucer. With no Gower, and Manu going off injured early, the forwards adjusted quickly.
Matty Lucas was very sharp from half.
Harry Bergelin was everywhere in support - another 3 try's.
Brian Sef would have to be one of the best defensive outside backs in the Shute.
Wet track so our kicking game had to be on the money, and plenty of meters were chewed up, and a good defensive line always followed.

How is K ale going generally? Looks a good one for the future to me. Notice he scored a couple of tries on the weekend. Is that indicative of his form?

When will the Marlins feature on ABC's coverage? The only chance we who live outside of Sydney get to see how teams and players are going.

This weekend v Uni, about time they played match of round hey.
Whole forward pack has been playing well, 6 and 7s have been stand outs.

How long has Mark been at manly for? Was he there all pre season? He seemed to just disappear from Canberra last season, I thought he had headed back to NZ to play club footy before ITM cup started again.
Not sure, he was at Manly when Blake coached last time

A mixed day at Uni today.

Good gutsy win and strong second half performance saw the 1's winning 14-10. 2nd's had a really good win 40-20 with a strong forward pack laying a good platform for the outside backs to take advantage.

Thirds will look mat the game as the one that got away. A good lead at half time and up by some 15 points with not much time left and losing by 4.

Fourths tried hard and gave their all but were no match for UNi.

2 and 2 for grade but a complete whitewash from Colts. Early days and a long way to go but I think Manly is looking good this year.

Good account,
4's didn't finish off the opportunities created, they managed to open uni up a few times but couldn't finish.
3rd came out of the break firing, but then had no ball or territory for the second half, uni tried there core game of line out rolling maul but the Manly forwards defended well.
2nd was a good win, and the forwards lead the way. Swanepoel, Vaevae and Greer were superb.
Firsts was a real arm wrestle, to hold Uni scoreless in the second half won that game. Uni's commitment and clean out of the ruck was on song, and we looked to return fire.

Porecki, and Bergo had strong game.

Well ref'd to.

Game following a big one is the one to be careful of.

What has happened in MMM Colts? I was hoping for some competition to the Uni Juggernaut, but they seem to have gone all Tah's on us with a loss to Beasts last week and now Uni, after showing much promise early on.

How many Colts I are in Team Rehab? Hodge is still out with his leg issue. Are there more?

[Grade] MMM vs Rats in May will be massive. Both teams in form. Hope the weather holds. Manly Oval should be packed to overflowing.

Beasts colts are, by all accounts, pretty handy

^^^Yeah they seem to be going OK. I have tried to get some banter about that going on the Beasts Thread. No takers yet. There are no Schoolboy or U20 rep rockstars, yet they are "doing to do".
How much of their performance is new Director of Colts Tamopeau's influence?
