JWL would be the favourite to get the 2 jersey, but Ed Craig (Epping BHS) is a marvelous young hooker and so is Pritchard, albeit now in the GPS IIs.

There's some good depth in the NSW hooking department which is more than I can say for the second row. There I would have Petterson as one of the locks in front of Vatuvei, to partner Swinton, who I rate.

James Lough is not a 7, he's a no.8; but if you are not sure who your 6 is you could put the big bopper there—though Hayson, another GPS IIs player, would be my choice.

I wouldn't be too worried about the backs because there are a lot of good choices.

Hopefully Tom Wright gets in the NSW Is for a bit of excitement. I would put him at fullback, where he plays for Joeys, because there are more choices on the wing than at the back.

GO III, I would agree that he certainly should not have been selected below the GPS 2's level. Played pretty well in a beaten White side, maybe tried to do too much, but he has been one of the standout 9's in this age group for as long as I can remember, so I'd say he would be on a clip board somewhere after last Tuesday. The Joeys kid in the 2's looked to have great clearance, perhaps better than both the 9'sin the 1's game, but once again the pressure being created by both GPS and CAS 1's teams was just at another level compared to the 2's game, so hard to compare really.

I would include J Walker in the backrow well ahead of Girdler. I also agree that the CHS no.4 Vatuvei who did not dominate may be off the pace. Lough is better suited to 6 or 8 IMHO. Although the ISA backrow was strong last Sunday, I thought Walker and Anderson were more effective than Lough. I would not be surprised if all three names popped up somewhere.

Looking forward to the GPS game tomorrow - do they ever play ISA in these trial games?

Isa halfback was dominant and should be named in one of the NSW teams. also thought that the isa 10 and 13 worked very well together could also be named somewhere in the mix

With the possible exception of CAS2 v Country, sounds like a very competitive afternoon of rugby. The boys may have given the NSW selectors some pleasant problems.

Any confirmation of what time NSW teams will be out? There was plenty of talent on display today and being a selector will definitely cause a few headaches

The ground announcer said that the NSW teams will be on the Schools Website tonight, and in the papers tomorrow morning.

The Combined States Team will be announced on Monday, after the QLD trials have also been completed, and their teams announced.

Some reputations were not enhanced today.

Have to say that CHS made up for an arguable lack of technique with ticker and tenacity.
I was sure they would run out of puff but it turned out to be the other way.
Hayson seemed to come on for GPS after about 2 minutes and someone was in 22 after about 10 - but it looked like Girdler to me.
I want whatever Hayson has: the guy is a human dynamo - virtually 2 full games and still contributing at the end.

Speaking to his dad today, they live on the northern beaches and when he finishes his rugby training at Riverview, most days he will go and complete hill sprints on the dunes in palm beach, his fitness is exceptional and today was hard work paying off, good luck to him with selection.
