At best only one win today, and two tomorrow with the Colts, but the sentiment and passion is appreciated.

Hope the forecast rain holds off tomorrow. Forshaw Park can be rather unpleasant place when raining.

I believe he played ever game in 1st grade ? big effort for a big bloke , he looks like a player to watch in the future

I believe he came as a hooker, but the early injury to Jimmy a Gentle, and injuries to other props he stepped up, and had an awesome season.

Yeah, turtle and brownie, brownie gets reward for the taking 2s to the tittle.
Tim Faibrother and Ross Reynolds also have gigs that have a special name.

Now that the coaches are sorted out , now the struggle of trying to keep all the players for the 2015 season let the games begin.

Very droll.
Not really, once he plays for the US, he can only be a marquee option in Australia and with each Aust franchise requiring their players to play in their own domestic comp, his only option to be a contracted player and be able to play for Manly is to be a marquee option at the Tahs. I think that is unlikely.

Technically I believe the Tahs could sign him right now, then he plays for the US, and subsequently according to the contract, he would still be on a regular Aussie deal. At least that was the situation for Byrnes (Russia), Aholeilei (Tonga) and Rokobaro (Fiji) at the Rebels.

The likelihood of that is ridiculously slim however.

Thanks for that info. I find it staggering that a guy who has put in so many games as a schoolboy then a Shute Shield club becomes a marquee player because he goes on to represent another country. The Marlins web site shows Greg progressing through Aus schoolboys (via Scots College) to 5 seasons with the Marlins. I assumed a marquee player was an import like Sias Ebersohm, brought in from another country.
Strange days indeed.

Ultimately they're both ineligible for the Wallabies (assuming GP plays for the Eagles) and if Ebersohn is actually uncapped for the Boks, then he can becomes Wallaby eligible and no longer considered a marquee.

I'm more concerned about the departure of 2 quality players from the MMM's team . Its only early and pre season hasn't started yet or has it?? Does the new coaching group have the same pulling power at attracting players to the MMM's as Phil Blake.

I'm with you here, Eddie is another example, plays with Regels then Tonga, and despite many years at Manly is now a Marquee - stupid when having players like that only strengthen our rugby depth.
