Crossing to the East does not mean you are lost to the West! You can return and do wonderful things there as Belly has at Parra! If anyone has done more than Belly to grow the code in the west I'd like to meet them!
I am a fan!

Thanks for the wrap. Haven't done it all on my own but it certainly feels like we're the only organisation trying to do something for Rugby in the west. There's certainly sweet f.a. support from any of the governing unions.

You're correct, I had a little 2 season stint at the Rats when I was still interested in coaching and loved every minute of it. The guys we had in colts those 2 years were and still are a great bunch of blokes. Some of them have started to make a name for themselves now and there are others about to follow. It'll be great to sit back and watch. The guy who put that program together was removed after 1 year and it was suicide to what was happening. They moved me from coach of the U19s to 1st Grade Colts and I wasn't ready for the jump. c'est la vie.

But my heart has been and always will be at Parra. We're not going to stop til we win the Club Championship, have a facility the envy of every other club and a sustainable long term financial model and playing culture to suit.

Once that's done though, I'm out of here. I'll go get a job that allows me to see my kids.

I have heard that Uni are changing their "recruitment model"

Interesting concept given that a few clubs seem to have recently adopted a Uniesque recruitment model strategy of "grab them as Colts", by whatever means possible, especially if they were Association, State or National schoolboy representatives.

A possible over-reaction from the Corporation to the "lack of success" in 2014.
They were 2014 Club Champions.
They featured in nearly every GF except for 1st Grade.
They won 2/3 Colts GF's, and lost Colts 1 by a small margin (in pretty poor weather and field conditions).
They did the above with very little support from their Super Rugby Professional players.

Apart from World Domination, what more do they want?

I'm pretty sure that most Shute Shield clubs would consider the above outcomes to be indicative of a successful season, and would adopt a rinse and repeat philosophy for the following season.

Maybe they want to devote more resources into making the Stars more competitive?
Or are they looking to develop kids/relationships before they leave School?

The District Under 18 competition (or Colts 4ths) which seems to be going ahead next year will further develop the relationship between Clubs and Year 12 players, and further define/clarify the pathway and transition between Juniors and Colts.

Based on posts on both the "Colts 2015" and "Decline in Sydney Juniors" threads it is a little unclear if it will be Colts or Sydney Juniors administered. Both parties seem to be interested in the idea.

The Corporation, like all Shute Shield Clubs, may have to engage with their juniors a little more than has been the case in the past, and reduce their reliance on picking the eyes out of the Private School 1st XVs to fill their Colts ranks.

Western Sydney: The Food Bowl of Sydney Rugby.
This from an Emu's stalwart:
<snip>
It's clear to me that in the future many clubs are going to be made up of players who reside in Western Sydney & personally I don't have a problem with players chasing opportunity, clubs wanting to be competitive, or western Sydney becoming the "food bowl of Sydney Rugby". However, It would be nice if the clubs which are directly benefiting from development actually contributed to development and didn't whinge when we can't get teams!

Some serious warehousing of #9's at the Wicks if that is the case, and if other rumours are true.
Young Boileau who was 1st choice #9 for most of this year must be well out of favour.
They have apparently picked up the Newcastle lad from the Rams (Vasa Falaelli).
Last years Aust Schoolboys halfback (Short) was with their colts 1 this season and I'd imagine he would be looking for opportunities in Grade, cameos off the bench this season and regular starts in 2016.
Wonder if they have targeted Duffy (Joeys and 2014 Aust Schools #9) as well?

There is also Tim Donlan,2010 Oz Schoolboy & golden boot winner I think.
Pretty sure he was a Rats 1st grade B &F, when still eligible for colts.
