Every time a review is done into the potential bias of the ABC it is found to be fair and reasonable. The most recent one which looked at asylum seeker stories found that only 4 out of 97 stories could be considered to contain bias.

My original question was in relation to who you considered bi-partisan in the media. I am trying to guage where you see the centre lying because I think it is somewhere to the right of centre based on your comments.

That is an absolute credit to the ABC and highlights its quality in its ability to cut through the white noise.

Have you ever watch that "documentary series", Yes Minister, and specifically on the rules of selecting an "independent committee"

If an internal review of anything government (or many businesses I have worked with my consulting hat on) doesn't have the agenda set out/executive summary developed in point form before the reviewer is selected ................................... the CEO isn't doing his/her job.

Prime example lately is Abbots's review of the NBN, did anyone seriously think there was any hope in hell of that being a positive outcome. Or that Rudds review of Workchoices was going to do anything other than set out how to get rid of it with no redeeming features documented at all?

Are Malcolm Fraser and John Hewson progressive lefties now because most of their public comments are critical of Abbott and the Coalition Government.

Some people seem to be running an argument that any criticism of a political party or policy means you are from the other side of the fence rather than being able to judge things on their merits.

To go back to the TV issue, it would seem that no-one within the Coalition predicted what backlash there would be from commercial TV stations from any upping of SBS's ability to generate ad revenue.

Yes, I have and I agree with you.

That's why these reviews which have all been conducted by Coalition governments into ABC bias are even more compelling.

Do you think the Coalition wanted the review to find that the ABC wasn't biased? That would go heavily against the public criticisms they were making at the time.

Which were by the Coalition government?

The "4 out of 97 stories could be considered to contain bias" review was by the ABC, commissioned by the board

Nah, it just makes them conservatives with a considered opinion.

The ABC is blotted and well overdue for an obesity diet.

If the M Director cut Play school it shows how political agenda.

Lets have 7.30 and 4 corners.

Remove Lateline, Q&A, The Drum and Insiders etc where the controversy is located. Why so many left leaning people in that many shows. It is propaganda.

Pass the budget. Whether he said no cuts or not to one supposed public service compared to a carbon tax lie is apples and oranges.

What controversy? Far right paranoia doesn't really constitute controversy.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you.
The challenge has been set - name one conservative presenter on the ABC. And no, Vanstone does not count.
The ABC only uses left-of-centre presenters in its current affairs shows. That's not a paranoid statement, it's a statement of fact.
