give me a break. The bloke is quite clearly a genuine tackle buster. very hard to stop one on one. He's one of the aussie stars to watch this season i reckon

Kerevi seems to have that Teflon coating that some plays possess. It is the same as Falou, they can seem to be jogging and have three blokes with a good grip on them and they just slip through.
I dont know if it can ever be explained but it is good for the Reds that he has this skill.
I think CFS may struggle to get much game time this season

JJ reminded me of Rod Davies the other night, he has lots of flaws but has that spark of electricity when he is near the ball.
He always looks like he is about to do something incredible.

If he just sticks his tackles and cuts back on the low percentage offloads he's got serious skills and athleticism (also raw pace) to burn. His defense in particular was just so outrageously bad last year that all the upside in the world wouldn't have seen him selected.
Watching him stick tackles makes me very happy. He could be a dark horse for a breakout season if he shows consistency in those regards through the remainder of this season.

I was pleasantly surprised at JJs performance . Last year he was sub standard.
Also Genia and Horwill really seemed to have stepped up. Hunt was good, briing composure to the backs. Reckon he will play at 10 at least until Quade returns.
Forwards were great particularly in first half. Dales hasn't played for an eternity and was blowing hard - as can be expected.
Really hope young Sef is ok - does anyone know the extent of his injury?

Plenty of big units running around in the centers these day but what Kerevi has going for him is a low center of gravity (like Ma Nonu has) which I think makes him such a difficult unit to stop.
I very much like the look of that Ant Kerevi center combination. Very versatile in many aspects of the game. Covers attack and defense well also. People rarely cite it but Ant Fainga'a is much more than the one trick pony he is often labeled as.

He's got some pretty decent footwork to boot. Every time he jump-steps I go through the same mental dialogue, "No, no he isn't.... holy shit - it worked?!"
Feels like he spends 3 seconds in the air each time and then next thing he's cantering past the first guy who he's totally rooted and barrelling his way into the secondary defensive line.
I know think CFS is only a centre. He goes missing too much on the wing and I think big Kuridrani has taken his wing spot for the Reds. CFS is just a centre, a good one who needs to keep involved to show is ability. He's still behind Kerevi though.
There's a chance we will see 12 Kerevi 13 CFS combo at some stage, but that really depends on the form of Ant and return of Taps.

I actually prefer CFS on the wing. His strengths were always as a powerful, dynamic ball carrier with surprisingly excellent footwork and acceleration for a big guy (never a noted kicker or passer). I am a little worried he might be a touch over his ideal playing weight right now. He's always been a big powerful lad but he looked absolutely fucking massive from where I was sitting on Friday...it may be a little too much and could be affecting his speed off the mark and lateral movement.
Him and Kuridrani provide a few options to play the power runner role wearing 11 which I like. Depending on where K ends up, JOC (James O'Connor) and JJT could end up providing some serious gas and footwork as 2nd playmakers wearing 14.

Diggers always looked much quicker than CFS has in his appearances over the past year or so, particularly last weekend. CFS isn't exactly a slouch but Digby had one of the most vicious steps in all of Rugby during his time.
Sort of agree with @hammertimethere that CFS may have gotten a tad too big in the offseason, looks like he lost a bit of speed off the mark.

I don't really agree...Diggers is the same, powerful but not that quick in absolute terms. Also, the last few years Chris has barley ever run top pace.
