I've heard that Canterbury have spent a lot of time and money in the off season putting in some "proper" field drains to de-swampify Wills Ground.

Any one confirm what condition it was in on the weekend?

Nah mate - full house, so no room in Thirds for the Old Boys on Renegades Old Boys Day. They were talking about Halligans but Hills cancelled on us Wednesday night.

Besides which, i fucked my neck up filling in at scrum practice at training. I'll be coaching seconds so if you know any lineout calls* this would be much appreciated.

*ha! Like you would - you're a back.

Mate I'm a reformed rugby player these days been playing in the pack this season even called one or two line outs myself. That said not even wild horses could drag the secrets to our calls out of me

If there are enough actual Irish blokes in the team we probably couldn't understand what you're saying anyway.

Three close ones at Renegades today - Irish taking it by 19-15 in Thirds, 17-14 in seconds, and a 7-7 draw in Firsts

Congrats to Redfield who came to Epping and took out good wins in the top three grades. Good clean fun rugby

And I must say, I'm proud of my lads in Seconds today. Poor first half, came back strong in the second half coming from 14-0 to that 17-14 scoreline on the back of huge defence

The draw in firsts was only because the ref decided he didn't want a great game to finish fairly. No one can believe it was called early

Yeah I just heard from the other Second Grade coach on the phone (I had to leave early for a family dinner). Yellow cards for three of our blokes, someone tying their bootlaces was done for "not complying with the scrum rules".

It has been described to me as "a nervous breakdown by the referee".

I have to say a much stronger team than last year fair play for the work you've done. Under the pressure they were in the first half to come back has to be respected

Considering I've had 1.5 training sessions to run the forwards, it went fairly well. Once they stopped fucking running one-out after half time

Holy sh*t. Just opened the papers to see that St Pats Kentwell lost a 3rd game in a row yesterday 50-0 to Balmain.

That's on the back of a 59 point drubbing from Colleagues in the previous round.

From Premiers in Kentwell in 2014 to last on the Div 1 Club Champs ladder & a relegation from Div 1 on the cards.

Who said money can't buy love & now that its not allowed St Pats dont have the backbone, club ethos or guts to stick it out.

Just checked their 2014 Kentwell Premiership team online & the team from vs Colleagues & noticed that they only have 1 player from the GF team playing - Riley Carter.

I am sure there would be a few retirements but it is clear that once they couldnt pay their players then guys dont like the club enough to stick around.

RIP St Pats

On the flip side: yesterday Beecroft went to SydQuins and fucking destroyed them by 75-7. Seconds was also a drubbing. How were The Croft allowed to go down so far yet Campbelltown were given pariah status shows how fucked up Subbies is

He just froze from what I understand there was niggle but it was never going to boil over. I've never seen a finish to a game like it! Yes refs are volunteers and have a tough job but that was a shocker yesterday. Not sure what will happen if the result will stand or if it will be appealed.

Was surprised when I saw that score, we're playing them next week going to be a long day I suspect. Its a joke that they have been allowed to come down this far especially when they are fielding 4 grades anyway

Asked Quins what happened - they were missing half their 1st grade and had to go uncontested scrums I.e. down to 14. So probably not a fair reflection of potential

2 red cards for Drummoyne yesterday against Iggies. At least 1 of then was for punching as well...
