Bojack Horseman Season 2 comes out on Friday. Do yourself a favour and give season 1 a shot if you have netflix. Starts off a little bit like generic adult swim comedy, but hits it's stride and becomes something else, that I can't quite describe but really enjoy.

I watched the first four eps but found it tough going. Really wanted to give it a go as it has Alison Brie voicing a character and being a big Community fan I tend to give shows with their alum the benefit of the doubt. I may give it a rewatch and see if you're right. Having watched the trailer for season 2 it looks funnier than the first. But I guess I'd have to watch the first to get the 2nd, right?

Mostly. Starts switching from bog standard adult swim comedy to the different stuff around episode 5, I think that's when they visit Dianes family.

The voice acting cast is a big part of the shows appeal but it didn't hit its stride till about 1/3rd to a 1/2 through season 1. Watched the first few episodes of Season 2, and it's not quite hit the same highs yet, but it's off to a much better than the opening of Season 1.

Yeah, okay I'll give it another go. I tend to work off a four Ep rule. If it doesn't really start to catch my interest by the fourth I generally dismiss it. The casting is a bit of a mixed bag for me. I often have a hard time with Will Arnet as it just feels like he tries too hard to be funny. But I think voice acting may suite him. At least in my opinion. With Alison Brie and now Lisa Kudrow it seems to be building a good cast.

As a side note, both Alison and Will were on Lip Sync Battle last week in the U.S. I've been told it was quite entertaining.

Mad Men That Coke ad to close.. Oh man, that takes me back. We were way too poor to buy that shit then though. Now here we are in 2009 and it's cheaper than fuckin' milk. So was the ad Draper's?

Yes: why else place it there straight after the meditative epiphanous smiling "ding"? The fridge dream from the hippie help circle, the coloured shit in the clerk chicks hair, the hippie vibe of the retreat, all in the ad.

No: Draper's Californian Kerouac thing, bolting Mccann, too far distanced himself from that world, his cleansing hippie brain enema has seen him wash his hands of that world. Man.

I'm going Yes.

^ Hahahaha.

So true. Just watched episode 6 and I have absolutely no idea what's going on.

Everytime I seem to get it they throw in some other back story about another random character from an episode earlier and I just get more confused.

I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt so far as the acting is top notch, but I reckon I'll have to sit down and re-watch the entire season again once all the episodes have been released.

p.s. Am I the only one who can't decipher any of the posts above that are written in yellow (I assume it's to hide spoilers)? - Trying to read that shit is painful.

Too many characters, too much going on. They got the balance right season 1. 2 Characters, one case with one perpetrator to chase and a back story to both character's lives organically unfolding along the way.

Season 2 is too forced, too many characters and too much going on.

Dunno if anyone has already mentioned it but Daredevil S1 was pretty good. If you're a comic book fan anyway

Episode 7 answered a lot of my prayers. Finally the story is moving and they are focusing in on particulars.

I reckon the next 3 episodes are going to be great.
