Wowee what a game of rugby!

St Edmunds played exciting rugby led by lightning fast 10 Fraser Smith, who controlled the play and showed his speed on a number of occasions. Big bad Levi Shaw ran hard and tackled even harder.

As stated by AngryDog Ryan Bol was at his best, constantly making bone crunching tackles on the Oakhill forwards. Irish recruit Josh Wise showed why St Edmunds were so keen to get him, while the 200cm fullback Jake Powley was creative.

St Edmunds coach Tim Woodhams has a well drilled side with very few weakness'.

I could be wrong but I believe Oakhill play St Edmunds and St Pats play Baulkham Hills Sports. Winners to face off against each other and then play winner of Auggies v Stannies in the final.
this seems to be correct
12:35pm Auggies V Stannies next Wednesday
I am guessing St Pats and Hills sports played today?

one of the other comps has four rounds left and wont be having a bye round this week i suspect :D

But that competition is played on Saturdays when there are no exams. FOr any 1st XV to play mid-week at the moment, boys will have to miss exams and/or make them up later. Not really that satisfactory - there's enough pressure in Year 12.

Surely you could incorporate dates in exam timetables that can run for two weeks?

At most schools there would be 2 or 3 exams on every day during the trial period. They have to be spread out because not everyone does the same subject or even the same combination of subjects. I'd imagine just putting the exam timetable together would be a challenge, let alone having to coordinate it with 4 or more other schools on the basis of rugby fixtures would be close to impossible. It's a knockout competition, and only about 10 or 12 schools even go in it, surely it would be possible to have it finished by the end of term 2?

Don't know much about examination timetables but at this end of the competion where quarter finals and semi finals are played are not the dayes fixed so working around them is not much negotion as compliance?

Wouldn't it be simpler to finish the competition by the end of Term 2?

Stannies v Auggies tomorrow, will be interesting to see how the Stannies boys travel and what their lineup will be like as my nephew is doing his maths trial HSC there tomorrow.

Should be good for younger boys experience especially with I think possibly a hard running Jack Veitch from outside centre.

Any thoughts on Auggies?

Stannies started well going to an early 10-0 lead, and scored no more
Augies finished the game with 28

Auggies defeated Stannies 31-10.
Stannies jumped to a 10-0 lead following a try to 7 James Donato and conversion and long range penalty goal by older twin 12 Daniel Donato.
However these early shots woke the sleeping giant that is Auggies and Auggies controlled the tempo of the game and scored two tries to be up 14-10 at the break. The second half saw Auggies maintain their dominance and strength at the breakdown which was just too good for Stannies today. Stannies made just too many errors and poor decisions which cost them dearly. Auggies scored two late tries to win which blew the score out to 31-10. The game was probably closer then what the score line ended up, but Auggies were just too good, too strong today. Disappointing finish for the Stannies lads after their encouraging start. Best of luck to all the yr 12 lads on their HSC it's been a pleasure watching the games this year.

Hills 25 defeated St Edmunds 12

- St Edmunds making a few mistakes toward the end which Hills capitalised on.
A few shots at goal in which St Edmunds turned down on 3 occasions and all three times would have levelled the scoring.

Big final coming up
