Dismal Pillock

I can see your unseen post, DP, and you are evil.
not sure what this is about but I'm fathoming a guess its an unfinished post draft I wandered off and forgot about halfway thru and the mods can still see?

i can only hope so because imagine the HORRIFIC possibilities that could unlock, whole new WORLDS of dismal deep web phantom limb silhouettes we plebs could leave behind, like so many dung beetles and dog turds, only viewable to the long-suffering mods, and with no visible evidence to the mounting atrocities.

Mods PM's:
Gagger: today the wanker - you know who - left behind a copy of the entire Magna Carta, reprinted in full, right in the middle of the Northern Transvaal vs Canterbury match thread from 2008. With pictures of Deans in various states of undress.
Cyclo: thats nothing. yesterday I woke up to a 612-billion gygabyte fullscale photo of the moon in the Western Force thread. The entire f**king moon.

With the coach undecided at the time, I'd say it's likely if he did, it would have been mentioned.

It was strongly rumoured that when he re-signed that he had a 'get out' clause should RG remain on in 2016.

I thought, an my memory may be a bit shaky here, that someone on this thread de-bunked that rumour not that long ago.

Anyway, I think there is enough noise surrounding it to be not very confident either way.

My 0.02 c based on the third party information that I presume we are all using wrt to Mr Gill, I would not expect to see him in a Reds jersey next year.

If there is truth to the rumour that the opt out clause (on event that RG was retained as Reds coach) in his contract was solely removed on the basis of strong assurances from the QRU that RG would not remain coach in 2016. Would to me represent misrepresentation from the QRU during the negotiation process and this can be dealt with pretty severely by the Courts. The question naturally arises was the reappointment of RG a certainty when Mr Gill re-signed with the QRU?

Fundamentally we will have to wait and see, but I would expect that Mr Gill would depart either overseas, interstate or be seconded to the 7s program.

The ARU have got to be pissed. The number of chargebacks coming on their merchant processor will not leave them in good standing. The expectation that people have to cancel their membership is going to result in a lot of angry phone calls come September.

Carmichael was more critical of RG last year than this year. If that doesn't say he has no idea what he is doing, I don't know what does

I highly doubt the ARU will allow Gill to play 7s when you consider the state of the Reds. It's not in their interest to assist in their demise.

As for the alleged assurances, unless Gill or his manager has some written correspondence stating Graham will not be at the Reds in 2016, I highly doubt any legal action would go anywhere.

It's much more likely Gill will be at the Reds in 2016, then it is that he won't.

And to think that not too long ago, certain forum members were calling for Carmichael to be appointed CEO of the ARU.

At least all he can do is ruin the poor Reds. Imagine if he was the top dog.

Gill has come out and said he's committed to next year and coach Graham and just wants to start rebuilding the program.

Sorry to the folk wanting it all to unwind.

Yeah see below

“I’ve always stated I can play under Richard Graham,” the flanker said.
“I’ve tried to prove that (by re-signing)
“We can’t afford to waste another year of rugby union.
“We just want to fight to (win) the support back of the Queensland public.”

Pretty sickened by the decision to re-sign Graham.

I feel a bit sorry for Graham because he looks like a nice enough bloke and there were other factors that contributed to our poor 2014 season. Nevertheless he should fallen on his sword.

Regardless of whether Graham has some skills as a coach or not, its abundantly clear that QLD rugby is going nowhere fast as long as he is in charge. He lost the trust confidence of the players and the fans a long time ago. QLD rugby is clearly in need of a refresher to get everyone back on board.

The decision to re-appoint him is just a major disaster on all levels. Expect Graham to be sacked by mid season next year and replaced by some interim coach. Reds to finish bottom 5 again next year.

As a devoted Tahs fan dating back to the first game I saw in 1967, the sad thing about this is that I can't even hate the Reds anymore. I spent my playing career regarding them as public enemy number 1, can't really do that now. It's bad for Australian rugby.

In the case of RG, he's in a no lose situation. Let's face it, his reputation as a coach can't get any worse, and if with the exodus of players the Reds have by some miracle he makes the semis, he will be a folk hero, all hail the prodigal son returned from the depths, kill the fatted calf!!!

Speaks of Gilly's character. Give him the captaincy (and a statue already)!

I do like Slipper very much, but he doesn't seem to be the leader we need at the moment. Gilly seems like the type of player that screams out "Oi f**kin follow me boys", before proceeding to throw himself head first into a ruck that resembles a moshpit of 200 six foot ten Afrikaans.
