Last season, the Force were the only team the Reds didn't look like a shambles against. They don't seem to use the rush defence, so the Reds didn't backpedal as much in attack, and in that situation the Reds standing so deep is actually an advantage (it seems to be what RG is aiming for every time by structuring the attack so deep, but he somehow is the only person in the entire world who can't see that it doesn't work against any other team).
Other teams have shown the Reds can't handle rush defence and the Tahs showed it again last week so it will be interesting to see whether the Force attempt it. The Force also haven't traditionally shown much pizazz in attack which I think is why they haven't threatened the Reds proven-shaky D.
If the Force play like they did last year I think the Reds should manage a win. But if they bring in the rush defence and their apparent new expansive style it will be interesting to see what happens, because the Reds don't have the cattle of either game last year.

I think the Force have a greater potential to win this game if they settle into the new game plan and don't overplay things like a 30 year old virgin.
The injuries to Godwin and Alcock don't help but Jono showed he's got game and hopefully Masiwera will get a start over Brache who can move into the centres with Taps or Rasolea.
A Force win will put that extra nail in Richard Grahams Reds coaching coffin and I think most Reds fans would thank us for that.

As per my comments pre-last weeks game, I would've preferred Gunn to start but hey, Curtis ain't no slouch, he's just not a 7.
I would've thought Kuridrani would've been higher up the pecking order than Junior too. Is he injured?
The reserve backs worry me a little. Does Greene play anywhere other than 10 well? I assume that CFS is the centre cover. An injury at 12, 13 or 15 would probably require a fair amount of shuffling of players.

At least RG has learned something from Knuckles that's stuck - last season, an injured 12 would have resulted in a completely reshuffled backline the next week. Goru to 15, Hunt to 13, Kerevi to 12 and shuffle the wings around just for the hell of it.
This time it's a simple switch, Hunt for Taefu and Goru into his natural position. I hope this continues as the season progresses so they get a chance to build some combinations.
Excited to see Laloifi get his first run. The Force are a good team to try him out on as he's not going to run into any marauding Nadolos or Saveas on the wing.

Yes you're right. What frustrates me is I suspect that they could have trialed 12 Karevi 13 Hunt.
Its a better back line this week all the same.

I have never really rated Browning after his school years. I just don't think his performances have lived up to the hype that many placed upon his young shoulders.
He must be 22 or 23 now and mature enough to be playing the best rugby he is capable of. Maybe 6 or 8 are his best options
However he ain't a 7 and never will be

Im stoked ill be in Brisbane for this one. I went to the corresponding game last year and watched my team, who'd just beaten the Tahs in Sydney, get turned over by a weak Reds team. Never been more horrified than watching them cop a penalty try on their own scrum feed.
Expect to see a bit more polished performance than last week, they showed they could pass the ball around, just need to keep it in hand and make better decisions.

I would agree if we had an experienced 10, due to inexperience I would prefer Anthony at 12 so he can help direct and also beef up defence

Yes I agree, I like the 12 Kerevi, 13 Hunt combination because then you have Kerevi's hard, direct running concentrating the defence allowing space for Hunt's more slippery running style.
But the reverse also works because Hunt is a more natural playmaker. If he can create some half breaks and then offload to Kerevi they could wreak havoc. Regardless, I think building consistency in combinations is more important for this side, especially since they are such a new backline. So I applaud RG for going for simplicity here.
Easy, now. It is RG we are talking about, after all.
