Knox 86-0 at Knox full time.

Some cracking tries and great defence. Knox scrum unstoppable until injury forced uncontested scrums. Only sour note was the Aloys supporter who thought it was funny to whistle while the Knox #9 was taking kicks.

Cranbrook bashes at the line for about 20 phases. Then a penalty. Kickable but Cranbrook calls the scrum. 5m out. Renton scores for 27-24. Searl converts 29-24 full time.

predictable but disappointing result for Aloys at Knox today.Aloys went into game fairly depleted in backs, missing big names like Slaven,Dainton,Mazaeraki, and Rahme in forwards.Ihe injury toll was telling with 4 more players leaving the field today.Like Aloys have seen all season serious lack of depth was telling today with Knox throwing caution to the wind and sending it wide.Aloys outside in defence DID NOT work as it hasnt all season with Knox being left a 2-3 man overlap on most occaisons, running in easy tries.Aloys did well at lineout but went uncontested late in game in scrums when lost prop to injury.Well done to Knox on joint premiership--well deserved and played to Aloys weaknesses. One old boy 'we think' whistled when knox were kicking but was quickly reprimanded by Aloys parents.Aloys might resemble last years firsts in 2 years time when 2 good years come together again--15a's--premiers and 16a's--equal 2nd?Knox go ahead on for and against points in firsts but as we all know, its a joint premiership!

For & against is meaningless really, although the reference to it as a measure is a bit disturbing. Given the full-time coaching staff at Knox I assume that for/against may be a KPI as that is all they are employed to do. For Waverley the teacher/coaches started substituting Year 11 1sts players for well-performed Year 12 2nds players later in the game so they could leave the school's rugby team on a high. Whether it had an impact on the final score I neither know nor care but the changes are the kind of thing a teacher would pay attention to as opposed to a professional coach. So the Henry Plume Shield is held by both Knox & Waverley for 2016 - a worthy result given the standard of the two teams but achieved by Waverley for probably $250K less than it cost Knox. That says all you need to know about the fallacy of money guaranteeing success at schoolboy rugby.

Its not the first time Ive eaten humble pie and it wont be the last. Well done to Knox on their Joint Premiership with Waverley and well done on finishing ahead on the points for and against.
Well done to all the players this year. All rivalry and competitiveness aside a lot of them become friends off the field. Thats a bonus.
Good luck for the future for all Year 12 players.
There was some very good rugby played this year. It was enjoyable.

Yes guys it was a great season and some wonderful footy played.I do think brumiejack is correct but I am equally sure that all the boys play with great passion for their schools. That's what makes school boy rugby the best you will ever see!

On the very positive side I think the 'gap' between scholarship-infused GPS rugby and CAS rugby may have narrowed. On the negative side the continued contraction in the number of teams in some CAS schools is increasingly worrying. Not sure that ARU give a toss though.
