IT"S ON! Thursday, 15 December at Websters Bar, Newtown. Under starters orders from 4:00pm.

Yes, Newtown, get yer passports and smallpox shots up date and yerselves over to Sydney's new hipsterdom, sunny Newtown. The Websters place is a mere 70m from Newown railway station, it's at 323 King Street, slotted in just before that town squareish bit where King Street crosses over the railway line and Enmore Road veers off. Yes, 70m, I've paced it out. Websters has a roof bar up the top plus a crooked lounge where we can eat. The owner's an aficionado of obscure Septic whiskies and bourbons, they've got a lot for those who're inclined plus 16 Japanese whiskies. Oh, they've some decent beer on tap and the food's good.

Last year we had a Connecticut Yankee in attendance (tried for King Arthur but got us instead ), a young Greek coffee merchant and his mate (Moccona?), a fine fellow who was a Waggatah in a previous life, and a lecturing prop. Can we top that this year? Will Hugh Jarse make an appearance? Will ShtinaTina thrill us with her dazzling smile?

Taking rugby to the western suburbs of Sydney - great initiative - ARU/NSWRU take note. I am onboard - great part of the city - should be good. Although be ready to see a more eclectic crowd.

You lucky bastards!

I happen to be in the city for my work Xmas thing that day, so I will wander (stagger?) over and grace you all with my charm, wit, and grace.

Hopefully at that point I'm still in a job and have resisted the urge to tell all my superiors to fuck right off and take their horse with them.

Either way, it promises to be 100% Pfitzy!

It's gonna be a mad dash but I should be there for an hour of power and a bit between 5.30-6.30

And it looks like my work Christmas thing - which was planned to be an outdoor activity - is maybe on hold, but I'll be making waves to get in there, and bring wet weather gear (23mm studs) for an impromptu rooftop scrum

OK lads: work thing cancelled.

Therefore I'm not going to be anywhere near Newtown any time soon.

Apologies in advance.
