I feel bad liking this post but jeez even after a bottle of port after getting home from the game things aren't looking any better :(

Any chance of us signing Link for next year? Even as an advisor to Stiles maybe....

L.Tui and I.Rodda need to be locked in as the long term lock combination, Ive long been a strong supporter of Simmons and whilst he still has much to offer, he doesn't have long left to offer it.

Simmons must be a fair chance of losing his ARU top up, and would probably look os if that happened. Hunt will take a big pay cut from the ARU too you'd imagine so will be interesting to see what happens there.

Skelton heading overseas will offer Simmons a reprieve

Your team as it is would be perfectly fine if not for the foul every 2.46 seconds and yellow every 40 minutes.

I wonder. You're probably right. But 4 locks already with a top up at the moment for next year. Do they see a role for Simmons all the way to 2019?

Skelton was reportedly offered a top up, not a massive one but still a top up. Ultimately the ARU have already spent big on Arnold and Coleman, and Carter also received one, I think there's space for one more, and Simmons seems like a natural choice for the next 12months at least.

Douglas is on one for next year (2018) though right?

I'd certainly think Simmons is ahead of him in the pecking order, but he might get squeezed out by the timing of contracts. He should be expecting a pay cut at least

We must do two things next season:

1) recruit Jim McKay as attack/backs coach
2) increase pig iron production by 500%

Who was that Kiwi strategist during the Link era? The one that Genia sacked. Let's have him back.

I'd agree with that. I'd throw Vanzati in as a keeper but understand the caution.

I'm not sure about Reece Hewat but think we have him for a while.

You a fan of IFL? Over Sorovi?

Openside flanker is the biggest issue. For the first time since forever the production line is a little bare.

Surprised to see this guy warming up with the Reds on Saturday night.

I assume it's Tate McDermott. Maybe he is on the radar, or maybe he is just on 'work experience' while he is not required with Aussie7s ?

I'm a big fan of IFL, Sorovi has show glimpses but I'm not absolutely sold on him either way...

McDermott seem like an incredible talent, I assumed he was locked to Sevens, almost looks like a 5/8 rather then a halfback IMO
