Actually, I thought the young'n even getting back on his feet relatively unscathed, and still alive to tell the tale to his future children about the day he "got hit in the middle of a paddock by a charging bull in blue & white stripes", was the VERY best thing about that one!

Anything to do with retaining the pill and playing it back was quite a distant second in importance!

Just wondering how far you guys think Charlie Rorke can make it in the Rugby world, haven't watch much of him but looks like a real talent

I have never worked out the answer to this question: why does a school like Shore (grammar and even TAS being other examples) have smaller boys? To take Grammar: I accept the possibility that selecting for apparent academic merit or ability may select boys less willing to confront physicality and that such boys may not wish to get bigger through resistance training (as it was once called) but that shouldn't stop the average height being the same in the same ethnic populations within each school: to my observation there has been a height discrepancy for 40 years.
SBHS is the same but the answer there is clearer.
And since taller stronger boys make the best rowers, and Shore (frankly) dominate rowing, why don't they have these boys at their disposal for rugby? Is there any correlation between Shore's difficult period in rugby and the onset of one sport rowers?

Manly Junior Rugby rep teams have the same issue. Right back to when I was playing juniors 40 years ago, we were always smaller than our opponents.

AS,

I think you'll find Shore alows Old Boys about 1 year from the birth of the boy to enroll, compared to the short time frame others are allowed.

That's one year to get ahead of non-old boys on the list, but to beat even the old boys there's an even more limited time frame. I was told about one month after birth (this may or may not be correct)

maybe there are deals that i dont know about but as far as im aware thats not right. Call the registrar and say you have a 3 year old and you want to enrol them for year 7. Answer "unless you enrolled them the day they were born you are unlikely to receive a spot" because there are so many that do. I disagree with the policy.

You can now enrol online according to the website, so there isn't even the race from the maternity ward anymore. Just take your laptop to the birth.;)

He has the talent but a long way to go. After all he is only 18 and he plays in the forwards so wont mature for quite a while.

Given his lack of height (relative to elite level back rowers), I would expect that he most likely will need to move to the front row.

In 3 years time we will be in a much better position to judge

.

Trivia for the good folk - the GPS '2017 try of the year' is identical in some ways to that of the '2016 try of the year' being; same field, same teams and same player involved who had a big hand in each try in 2016 and 2017....

^^^^^
Just some of the unspoken 'power' that selection in the GaGR "Team of the Year" can bring? ;)

Good on Master Dowling for getting the nod. Had such a good season.
