Lots of room in that squad, I guess they're waiting until nearer to the end of the top 14 to make the call on some of the locals, but it could be an option for quade.

So, JP is the Reds prop, Ruan is the Sunwolves prop. My bad. I think the Sunwolves got the better end of the deal.

Ruan has played it smart. Good deal in Top league then a gig at the Sunwolves. Good wage, employment stability and no need to uproot.

JP is not too bad so wait and see how he has developed while playing in SA.

Hahaha!

The real pinging would eat that moon-doggie for breakfast. The new family friendly mascot.

Ah well, as long as the fans keep howling through the scrums.

How long has Ruan Smith been in Japan? Any chance he could get a Japan cap?

Since he left the Brumbies in 2016. He had already been playing in Japan the previous off season (2015). So there is a possibility. IIRC he has not played anywhere other than Japan since leaving the Brumbies.

Its not inconceivable that his Sunwolves selection is a pathway.
