Its certainly the best backrow in Oz by a country mile, even without Pocock. Probably only a couple of NZ backrows that would be as good. If Valetini plays to his reputation he'll solve our Fardy problem and be in a huge fight with Dempsey for the 6 jumper.

Right now spare a thought for the Sunwolves, who get this first up and then Cottrell, Mafi and Timani next week.

Based on last night? It was 3 on 2 after 10 minutes and they still didn't wipe the floor with them. Mafi was OK, Timani and Cottrell were largely anonymous.

The only way you are right is that the Rebels have played a game and the Brumbies haven't.

I think it may have been pushed back till next year after it was first thought he’d be available for the June series this year.

It’s just a typical brumbies performance over the past few years. They will prob find a way to grind out a narrow win. Think they will go away and look at the contact zone in the front 5, the sunwolves are generally winning that area. Still confident in them to get a result

This Sunwolves halfback is struggling a bit, loose passes and a few charge downs...

That was a pretty unique way to score a try, the pass bouncing off the goal posts.

Not advocating the force’s axeing by any means, but I can see this line getting very boring if it’s rolled every time an Aussie team is behind mid-game!

Yeah fair play. I guess after watching last night's game and most of the first half of this one there is a point to be made. I won't wax on about it.

On paper, the score-line should not look like this. And fair enough that on paper isn't the way games are played, but you'd be putting your head in the sand if you didn't reflect on it afterwards.

Home teams have a definite advantage in the early rounds, or at least the first one. Logic would suggest that the Aussie teams should finish on average higher than they did on the ladders in the preceding couple of years, that’s going to be the real litmus test if that actually transpires.

I saw Clyne sitting on a couch at Westfield Bondi junction at about 12.30 today in his shorts and boat shoes sipping a coffee and not looking like he gave a shit about anything. It would have made a good photo, I was tempted! In fairness the bloke is entitled to some down time.

The defensive lines peed of the Sunwolves troubled the Brumbies. Conversely, the Brumbies line speed was disjointed and the Kuridrani rush up and miss was good example of that.

The Sunwolves set piece disruption was good and made the Brumbies adjust but it took too long for them to do so. The Kuridrani try was very fortunate (thanks sponsors for having the goalpost pad colour the same as the jerseys) but that sprung them into action.

Handling was patchy throughout the game. The Banks try handling was good, even if it was a forward pass from McCaffrey.
