    Queensland Reds v British & Irish Lions - Wednesday, 2 July 8:00pm

To confirm, I'm not the one attending childcare. Not sure if that helps. ;)

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

It's hard to work out. Their performances in the under 20 Rugby Championships were some of the best we've seen in years. They've then suffered probably their biggest defeat ever against South Africa. If South Africa goes on to win the tournament it will definitely look a lot better. We need...

    Waratahs v British & Irish Lions - Saturday, 5 July @ SFS

Edmed started the second last game of the season (and Creighton played fullback) so there was definitely a shift back towards Edmed from Creighton late in the season (then Bowen started the last game against the Blues). I am unsure Bowen is healthy so it might be a moot point. He hasn't played...

    Lions Tour 2025

Well it wouldn't be soap and water because then they would combine well and the Poms would lose their identity.

    Lions Tour 2025

I am totally on board with players playing for other countries however they qualify. We live in a globalized world and people move for opportunity. That said, this is absolutely something we should have a bit of fun with, particularly as it has clearly struck a nerve. The Guardian piece took...

    Wallabies 2025

Absolutely. I don't think it's unreasonable that he isn't getting picked. We're a bit spoiled for choice at the moment. It just feels like he has been very close for a while and it isn't necessarily going to come. With the amount of media he's done this week I thought it was likely to happen...

This is also my last year of childcare fees!

Wallabies v Fiji, Sunday, 6 July, 1:30pm @ McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

According to Iain Payten, Harry Wilson is captain for this game, Jake Gordon is missing the game due to a hamstring niggle, McDermott and Lolesio will start. Jorgensen and Potter on the wing with Sua'ali'i at 13.

    Lions Tour 2025

Doing it to Jofra Archer would be pretty much the same. He moved to the UK as an adult to play cricket. Jacob Bethell would be less appropriate. He moved to England as a teenager to attend school (on a cricket scholarship) and stayed there. Shoaib Bashir was born in Surrey. We very clearly...

    Queensland Reds v British & Irish Lions - Wednesday, 2 July 8:00pm

The demand justifies the expensive tickets. It's a once in 12 year event. The fact that there are very few tickets remaining for any of the games on tour suggests that the pricing was reasonable for the events being sold. The test tickets I bought were fairly eye-watering in terms of cost...

    Brumbies 2025

Ieli (as in capital i). He wasn't in the Wallabies squad. He was added to camp as one of a number of training squad players for opposed sessions. They were all from the Tahs and Brumbies.

    Waratahs v British & Irish Lions - Saturday, 5 July @ SFS

I assume it was just accurate reporting of what happened. I think the alternative is worse that it gets reported by the media that Tupou has left he camp despite no announcements from Rugby Australia whereas there were announcements each time players were released from camp previously.

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

I don't disagree with your first point about this game. I do think they were fairly interchangeable through the Under 20 Rugby Championship. My main point is that I don't think Sharples looks out of place at this level. We've seen 2-3 halfbacks for each of the 4 under 19s sides last season and...

Maybe Jorgensen will end up on the bench but it seems very unlikely he won't be in the 23 at all given he hasn't been released to play for the Waratahs. Given he was selected in all matches on the EOYT (2 starting, 2 on the bench) it also seems pretty clear that Schmidt is a fan.
