Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

Am I too late for the "it's political correctness gone mad" comments?

    Pocock Arrested

He can trespass on as many things as he likes, the fact is he is good at rugby and there are no shortage of clubs willing to pay him to play for their team. The ARU or the Brumbies can fire him if they want, but they wont, because he is good at what he does.

    Pocock Arrested

Intelligence is what separates us from rugby league. I for one hope players are encouraged to stand up for what they believe in, doing so in a peaceful but dedicated and passionate matter. I think over the last year we have established that there are too many air-heads in the Wallabies...

    Rugby - not set pieces

One of the American commentary gems: Craig Joubert forgets who the home team is and starts talking like he's in Auckland:

    Rugby - not set pieces

Toulon vs Toulouse (oct 12) English commentary, featuring Robbie Nock and Digby Ioane. Robbie: "Yellow card for Bakkies Botha". Digby: "Told ya mate, Bakkies..... again. Top bloke, but very dirty in the games".

    Kurtley Beale

None of this rubbish happened when Elsom was captain.

Perth Spirit vs. Brisbane City - NRC Round 2, 31/08 @ UWA Sports Park - McGillivray Oval

Good day for rugby. Great atmosphere as well. DHP was outstanding and Godwin seems very switched on, as you would be heading into the Wallabies squad.

    Refereeing decisions

The ball carriers' feet may leave the ground in a tackle without any lifting having occurred, there are other factors such as momentum and the ball carriers' actions which may cause such a situation to occur. Hence, not every tackle is a lifting tackle. It's obvious when a tackler is pushing...

    Refereeing decisions

Don't carry a lawbook with you at all times IS? :D Law 9 is the one with regard to scoring goals. It says if a team mate of the kicker touches the ball, the kick is disallowed. If the opponents touch the ball, that should have no bearing on the kick success.

NRC Law Variations - have your say

To lift some pressure off the referees, how about they give one lucky member of the crowd a device that can be used to signal to the referee whether or not a line out was straight?

2014 IRB Junior World Championship – New Zealand

Chuck that one on youtube GAGR, what a play.

    Refereeing decisions

That's somewhat proving HJ's point though. The ARU documents indicate it's an automatic YC for lifting past the horizontal, whereas other places of authority stick to the "if they bring them down safely it's ok" interpretation.

    Refereeing decisions

The directives are in the game management guidelines, sent to all teams and referees before the season (hopefully). http://www.rugby.com.au/Portals/22/2014%20Laws/2014%20Game%20Management%20Guidelines.pdf On the last page emphasized in red:

Yeah, it's a tackle off the ball/obstruction if it goes beyond reasonable distance/force. I would have thought 1-2m is getting extreme. Something maybe to talk about locally though I agree, there is no law reference.
