Australia vs South Africa 8th September

Does this team mean Chieka wants to keep his job? Oh wait, Hooper is still there. Baby steps, I guess.

I actually pains me to say I told you so slim & brumby runner, but let me reiterate. Wallabies Lineout success rates drop dramatically when Simmons isn’t playing. That is a fact. We’ve never lost 7 on our own throw with him on the park. We pick props that can scrum; it’s time to pick a 2nd...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

How dare those pesky Shute Shield players leave their club to play professional rugby. Such greed in the modern player these days. Forrest in the box at half time in WSR v Wild Knights “we’d really like to get in there and build Western Sydney Rugby.” Very interesting times indeed. I said...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Why would Twiggy give handouts to the ARU when they merely "piss it up against the wall" :D

    Reds 2019

As a counter point, a great club culture doesn’t foster feelings of homesickness. Clubs regularly use terms like brothers and family to describe the bond and mateship present. When this many “top” players are leaving after the HC’s first year in charge culture would definitely be an issue

    Australian Rugby / RA

Disastrous. Should have set higher prices.

    Reds 2019

No. This is incredibly naive. RUPA would never allow it, and I doubt players would sign a contract that says “nah we get to chose where you play so bugger your mortgage, your family and your kids; you’re all moving to Sydney or you don’t get paid” It’s not how the world works. You sign a...

    The Wallabies Thread

I should have stipulated: when you compare the same team with Simmons and when Simmons isn’t on the park; success and spoil rates drop dramatically. Simmons has suffered teams with weak jumping lock partners along with duel 7’s. You just can’t run a successful line out with Kane Douglas as...

    The Wallabies Thread

I think Simmons form this year has been on par with Coleman if not better. He's shown a level of physicality that he never showed with the Reds. I hope they both play. Whilst Rodda, Tui & Arnold are great players; if we're going to go in with two 7's and an 8 who rarely jumps we need our best...

    The Wallabies Thread

Had the Tahs recruited Coleman instead, their scrum and line out would both be average. Simmons has long been commended by props for the added support he provides at scrum time. Whilst not a slight on his compatriots it's definitely a noted difference by our front rowers. There's been many a...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It wasn't long ago that many a poster here were advocating the formation of a Western Sydney based pacific Islander team for Super Rugby. Surely having a team in a competition full of pacific islanders is a sure fire way to get bums on seats. It may even have the unintended consequence of...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Considering the amount of disillusioned and dormant rugby supporters in both NSW & QLD, I'd be surprised if there isn't a massive protest vote against Super Rugby/ARU which translates to bums on seats for WSR. Hell, all the 2nd QLD team has to do is sign up Hunt & QC (Quade Cooper) and they're almost...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I honestly reckon the best course of action is a 10 team quasi-domestic comp. Quite literally NRC but with KNOWN brands and more pacifika. Samoa, Tonga, Fiji + the 5 Super Rugby sides, a 2nd Brisbane & a 2nd Sydney team. Tahs never resonated with anyone west of Anzaac parade, so call the 2nd...
