Hear me out, but this should be the jersey every single year - Maroon block colour, white colour, no patterns, 75% less sponsors Away jersey should be the White, Navy and Red hoops. I'll hear no dissenting opinions.

The first cotton jersey they did is like this - just straight maroon, white collar, thick cotton - perfect for round 1 in mid feb.

Carter out, Edmed in - probably will skip the alarm

I suppose I'm trying (poorly) to make the point that we aren't executing to the same level as the top teams. Sure we can catch-pass but we don't seem to be stretching defences or asking questions that lead to line breaks. New Zealand are the benchmark for this. The speed of the catch-pass, and...

The ball handling skill of our forwards isn't good enough to beat well drilled defences. And this compounds when we are put under pressure, get slower ball or have to commit more players to the tackle phase after phase. We get slower and less agile, while the defence gets more time and line speed.

I feel this is kinda his only strength relative to the rest of the main group of 9s. Doesn't pose the same running threat as Tate, not as great defensively either - not a huge boot on him. Quick service is all well and good but if we're unorganised outside him there's not much it adds to the game.

Yes that's right - both debuted under Schmidt.

As others have said, it seems both Edmed and Lonergan have their Schmidt cards marked already.

Bell has also played his best games this year from the pine. In a similar way that Tate has impacted the game in the second half, our go forward got a huge boost when Bell came on.

Huge call - I don't think it'll happen but I can see a future where both him and Fowler wear gold.

Sorry that last bit was a joke - if these forums revisited the topic for the 18th time this year I'd unsubscribe from earth.

Are you claiming that sometimes these forums have a tendency to repeat themselves regularly over time? What are your thoughts on Australia ditching super rugby and going it alone with a model based on existing premier club teams instead?

None of this is a fair comparison, blokes all play in different positions for the most part - and have come onto the scene in different times of the year.I don't think there is any hard metric(s) that you can definitively point to, to make a judgement as to why someone is more or less impactful...
