    2015 Schools Rowing

Best to assess coaches on how good they are, rather than what they are paid. Otherwise Sydney taxi drivers are some of the best drivers on our roads.

Toowoomba should be pretty well served by the Spotted Cow pub and bottle shop. I've found Coopers Vintage Ale to be on the slide, the last 2 have been the worst i've encountered (i've had every year except 1999).

Worst case is it was good while it lasted. Best case is that schoolboy rowing in Sydney expands beyond the myopic GPS.

St Augustines are based out of Mosman. Coaches are a husband and wife team of Matthias Ungemach (1991 World Champ and WBT holder M4+) and Judith Ungemach (nee Zeidler) (Gold 1988 W8+, Bronze 1992 W8+). 2 of the kids from their four are nominating for National (junior) Selection in a four with...

Race report CSB8+: Shore got the jump on the field, Joeys took it out hard and were just behind Scotch. Shore kept pulling away, Scotch looked pretty ragged, were rating 38 for large parts but fighting it to get the rating. Shore looked pretty controlled at 2 to 3 spm lower and held off a...

Best value for me is anything from Sierra Nevada or Founders or Ballast Point Big Eye (the fresher stuff has the white label). Basically around $75 - $125 a case for stuff that is generally some of the best for the style. Just need to be wary on BB dates on the Pale Ales and IPA's.

I've only ever heard schools complain about making the trip out to SIRC. "School sport shouldn't take all day" etc etc.

I'm a member on BeerAdvocate. It's a good site with a lot of good content added to it by users, but the Alstrom Bros that run it are a**holes. So i minimise my contributions there. It's very US focused, but it's a good place to review beers and venues and it has a relatively active Australian...

Murrays are starting to get this into more and more Woolworths owned bottleshops. Should be at a BWS or Dan Murphys, it is at my local one

They repackaged their bottled range and added Sly Fox to it. Feral use the term IPA and Pale Ale whenever it suits them for Hop Hog. Very handy when it comes to beer awards. It is the same beer. Could taste differently due to how fresh each are and if they've been refrigerated or not...

Only a guess. Presumably the shorter distance is to do with the younger age and i figure with less experience they'd want to take both bridges out of the equation. I don't row for Sydney RC. Makes it tough to land a job there;)

Can only presume that being 1km shorter than the Head of the Parramatta River, that it will still use the Towns Memorial finish line at Sydney RC, Abbotsford and start on the eastern side of the Concord Rd bridge.

Harvest is a fresh hop beer. Don't age it. It's designed to showcase the hop flavour and aroma, not to be cellared. Store in a fridge and drink fresh. As the saying goes, if you wan't something old and jaded inside you, try Craigslist and avoid the calories
