CHS Team lists from today's opens trial is attached. Been a few changes since the initially announced squads. Apparently a number of boys pulled out or were unavailable
CHS had their first warm up games today at Foreshore Rugby Park, results for the record:
CCC 6, CHS2 5
CHS1 38, CHS2 0
CHS1 28, CCC 7
CHS 1s looked strong across the park, but it's early days. CHS 2s forwards were good, but their backs underwhelming.
I stand corrected, he did play u18 for Illawarra in 2014. It's a shame he's not playing grade rugby as he has some ability. Apologies my memory failed me
Jacob Barnes also previously represented Country Schools on one of their development tours and played in the Junior Gold Cup for Illawarra.
Dane Bowen isn't playing senior club rugby this season, played last year for the Shoalhaven U17's in the Illawarra Junior Comp.
Couldn't agree more! Have to say the whole squad notification process was a farce, the boys were told that it would be in the paper on Saturday and on the website. Not a good look when they start hearing via the grapevine who got a phone call or who's part of a Facebook page. Looks like you need...
After being a late call up to replace South Australia, NSW Country Juniors (boys U18) did well to make the plate final, pushing NSW White all the way before going down 24-19. NSW white scored the decisive try to win the game in the last play of the game.
The Country boys finished 6th overall...
Well spotted S'UP. Country 17s put the cleaners through Sydney 17s, but there were some interesting resulting selections in the NSW 17's. A number of the Sydney players were completely outplayed by their Country opposition, but they still made the NSW starting side. The make up of the front row...
True, true Hugh. This pathway almost seems to be dead. Looks like the ARUs focus for 17s will be on the JGC and the proposed NSW and QLD sides that will be picked at the conclusion of next years JGC. Still it's a shame for this years crop that have worked hard with the promise of at least one...
I'm hearing that the NSW U17s will now only be playing Syd Under 18s on the Oct long weekend after Brisbane have pulled out late in the piece. Very disappointing for all the NSW boys concerned who have worked hard to come through this pathway.
