UQ appear to have a very large Colts program this year. I heard they currently have enough players for something like 6 teams! Not sure how that one will play out with the Colts competition but I hope it can to keep these young men fit and busy. Grades were hard to judge at this early time...
With pre-season trials to kick off soon, would like to hear from the Forum about players to watch this year and what player and coach movements have happened.
NO better training than playing. I trust this will be the LK strategy going forward in to the QPR season where those not selected are playing club rugby and watching from the sidelines in their team uniform.
I think the #10 position is still quite unclear and this game and possibly the next will used as a decider in many ways as to who will wear the 10 for the majority.
Agreed that having that many options is a nice situation for the coach. Whatever way Les chooses to go, I would really like to see those not selected (that includes all squad members) week in /out back playing in QPR. There is no better training paddock than playing.
I think you are on the money with your comments here BUT would like to see HM-P get some more time this weekend at #10. I liked what I saw last weekend.
Agreed. The heat and humidity certainly appeared to take its toll and first round trials are rarely pretty but given the amount of pre-season work done I was hoping to see a better performance around the field. The breakdown and ball security is a concern and the lack of attacking flair...
I think Harry M-P is a wonderful talent with great attacking abilities (which the Reds need) and will shine when given an opportunity. Creighton is solid but I think has a way to go in the position; more time playing in Prems would go along way to help that rather than sitting on the bench...
