We're up to our necks in loose forward depth at the moment, why would we be looking OS for 6 options? Holloway has been quiet in his 3 games but certainly not terrible and Leota has looked deadly in pretty much every opportunity he gets. Add Wilson, Gleeson, Samu and Frost are in the squad...
Wields the Axe on who? Are we selecting players from 2nd Grade Subbies now? Who is left?
You can blame this one on the injury ward but a winless 2021 Spring tour and a win record many times lower than what Cheik got absolutely torn about Rennie might just not be the answer.
As an aside what...
Wow, Where was Gibbon before rebs? I can remember him at the rams then nothing. I'll admit i give the rebels very little of my brain time. Pone has been in the Wobs squad for ages though
Seems reckless to wait until one of the 2 capped Tightheads you have in the entire squad to have an injury to blood a rookie. he's had miles more Super Rugby experience than Gibbon and He has been in the wallabies squad for 2 years now. Last year we capped Ollie Hoskins bc Pone had a calf injury...
I'm going to get shouted out for this but I can remember AAA being a handy option at LH as well as TH a couple of years ago. Why not 1.Slipper 3.Tupou 17. Ala'alatoa 18. Faamasuli? AAA can be the replacement captain and Pone could have a well earned debut.
JOC (James O'Connor) was a complete horror show off the bench in Brisbane. Hodge has been solid. you can understand why the conversation is being had. Unfortunately for Hodge he is great Injury cover off the bench.
Call it coincidence or luck: The Wallabies last 2 wins against the All Blacks have been with Reece Hodge playing 10. I think it's because he keeps it simple and defends well but again, you could pick these factoids about a lot of things. I rate him.
