Same guy who dismissed Moody's elbow to the throat on Beale because "he had a clean record"?

Moody got suspended for the strike on Beale.

"Foul play review committee chairman Nigel Hampton said the strike merited a mid-range entry point of four weeks due to the dangerous contact with the opposing player's head. However, taking into account Moody's "excellent" judicial record, good character and early guilty plea, the suspension was reduced to two weeks."

I notice that NZer Nigel Hampton QC (Quade Cooper) is chairing Hodge's hearing. I'm pretty sure he's the bloke that found Hooper guilty when Sanchez took a dive a few years ago.

Also expert on players losing their balance and stepping on people, from memory, I think? ;)
But that aside - Aus have to assume Hodge will get a few weeks and move on, methinks.

DHP onto the Wing, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)/Kuridrani to the bench... experience and fully fit trumps talent (Petaia)

I think the underlying point here is that Hampton is one of the most regularly featured judicial officers.

He was the guy for Horwill against the B&I Lions (who found him not guilty).

He was the guy for Harry Hockings who got suspended for stumbling onto someone's head this year.

Can't remember - there was a case where someone claimed that defence, thought he was involved. Probably wrong. :)

Was Horwill. G&GR & Gagger hisself were all over it:

Hampton found him not guilty whereupon Brits went mental & IRB appealed, but....

So based on Hampton's track record viz: Strayan players I'd say Hodge will get nothing or next to it. Oh that's right, Hampton's only the Chair not the sole judge. Could be in a spot of bother then, what with the other two on the panel being "former international coach Frank Hadden (Scotland) and former referee José Luis Rolandi (Argentina)."

Breaking news that Israel Folau is set to play rugby League for Tonga against Great Britain later this year. Fox Sports are saying he can't play for Tonga in the world nines, as that is run by the NRL which has banned him, but he would be allowed to play in test matches as they are run by the Rugby League International Federation.

Ouch.........

An RLIF statement said: "The Rugby League International Federation is aware of a media release issued by Tonga National Rugby League stating that Israel Folau has been ‘approved’ by the RLIF to represent Tonga in international matches. That statement is incorrect, the RLIF has not been formally asked to consider this matter."

Israel Folau’s bid to return to rugby league with Tonga could be short-lived, with the Rugby League International Federation reportedly set to reject the move.

It would be fine if it was consistent but since then we've seen all sorts of nonsense and no reds.

So, yeah, fuck you WR (World Rugby).

Was thinking about it the other day, after this season, our fly half stocks are looking very grim. Losing the likes of lealiifano, Foley and Q Cooper, who are the starting 10s for 3/4 super rugby teams this season.
So what is next, who are our options?
The only real candidates I can name are To'omua, Hodge, JOC (James O'Connor) and Beale. None of which are natural 10s. To'omua is likely to play 12 with the departure of Kerevi, Hodge can plug any hole (But is he a 10?), JOC (James O'Connor) can also plug any hole, is it worth us playing him at 10 vs Uruguay or Georgia? Lastly, Beale, I think he is nothing else than a 15 or impact player from the bench.
There is also the likes of Deegan, Mack Mason and Bryce Heggarty/ Hamish Stewart, who all need more time in super rugby to develop. Thoughts?

The process starts again.

Isaac Lucas, Hamish Stewart, To'omua, Gordon, Mason, Pasitoa.

And that’s just from QLD.

Donaldson, Harrison, Ahmed from NSW.

To'omua will be the incumbent.
