How’s the gall from the rugby league execs. Reckon they decided to cancel the season based on medical advice and player welfare. Please. I’ve got a funny feeling it had a lot more to do with Queensland following some other dates and closing their borders.

Article coming out tomorrow saying if the league season is canned, the Panthers are looking at a $40mil hole as they are in bed with so many leagues clubs with pokies. Could potentially see the whole Aus sporting landscape push the reset button from this. Could have a huge impact on future talent, the money offered by different sports to win talent, the amount of teams to attract talent. Etc. interesting times

Ironically even running off the smell of an oily rag it may prove our model is more sustainable long term. Hopefully. But all the talk of clubs likely to fold. If it proves to be true then it suggests that the likes of the NRL and AFL have been living well beyond their means on credit for a long time. Could be an opportunity for them to find a better model. Could also help level the playing field.

I think that may be a massive dose of wishful thinking for about a dozen pretty good arguable reasons, once this thing blows over it is the sanzaar model of rugby which is gonna struggle to reboot.

maybe not.Suncorp Stadium has offered to host a series of "Magic Rounds" and apparently the QLD Govt would consider excluding them from the 14 days quarantine rule if they fly in by charter.

un-fucking-believable.

Jesus, if the Government do this, I reckon there will be another huge swing like there was to CanDo a decade ago later this year.

this guy is unbelievable:

* V’landys (the horse racing guy) revealing he will consider asking the NSW government to redirect $500 million in funds for stadium construction to be given to save the sport;

Geez has this joker got no idea? Even if you going to put hand out, have the decency to wait until the people that are sick, and the ones trying tp prevent it spreading , and the general ordinary person is ok before you do it!!

Sanity at last!!!! Wonder if the Warriors will head home now?

Just landed at AKL & straight into 14 days of isolation followed by at least another 14 of lockdown, poor buggers.

EDIT: re: V'landys, what happened to their alleged A$150Mn in cash reserves?

Could we run a club comp, send all our boys back to there club in there states, telly a couple of games from each area, and when this all finishes we have a championship play off weekend.. FA Cup style.

We could do worse then having a actual club rugby on some tv with the Wallabies staying instate and trying to win.. be an absolute cracker of a comp.. and keep something for Fox to play.

When would we be doing this?
