The Parrot....also quoted Sherri Markson on another point in some sort of verification of her earlier, discredited, "Five Eyes dossier leak".
Markson's magnificent exposé, as relentlessly pushed by The Parrot, is all crap.

Lets look at both side of the political coin. The Septics have finally done it: THEY'VE TOPPED 100,000. Well done, Donald! Surely that warrants a week off to play golf.

You know, it would be a lot easier to believe you actually cared about those deaths if you stopped referring to the victims as "Septics."
“Septics” is cockney slang for Americans.....
In a step up from the pint-sized versions handed out at Burger King (or Hungry Jacks) long ago, Burger King stores in Germany have started handing out giant sized crowns.
The company has introduced the massive ‘social distancing crowns’ to help keep customers 1.5 metres apart when they visit the store.
Each customer is given a folded, flat version of the hat which they then have to build themselves.

Not sure if I'm interpreting the graph correctly, but does it say the 'weekly deaths 5 yr average" is less than 'weekly COVID cases"?Google "excess mortality USA 2020" & there's any number of analyses that show 2020's numbers are well outside the 2015-2019 range. I think this one shows it best:

The grey shading shows the range for the years 2015-19. At best the numbers you quote were accurate at around week 10 or 11 which just happens to be when the numbers for 2020 start to be well above the five-year average.
"A comparison of the number of deaths from all causes in the U.S. during the first 17 weeks of 2020 reveals a higher mortality than for the same period in any of the previous five years. While the death count was comparable to previous years in the first two months of 2020, it increased rapidly in March and April. Comparisons of mortality are highly sensitive to how the data are gathered and presented, therefore any claims based on the data must always be presented in the appropriate context. Since its outbreak in the U.S., COVID-19 has claimed more lives than diabetes, suicide, or stroke."

EDIT: Or we might just let Tasmania in, as they seem to be nearing 0 recorded cases too. Hell, we might as well annex the little wee buggers if they're still producing cricketers toPontingMax Walker's level.
Probably a couple of blokes down there who could have gotten that extra run.Hell, we might as well annex the little wee buggers if they're still producing cricketers to Ponting's level.

Because 98% of cases are mild and the graph appears to be measuring two different variables.
How is a trans-Tasman bubble going to work given the different strategies in NZ and Aus? Shirley the NZ border isn't going to open -- or, at least, the quarantine removed -- until either Australia has a better handle on its situation, or NZ abandons the elimination strategy?
