Sydney Subbies 2020

Pfitzy

George Gregan (70)
Looking back at my tips:

McLean: 4 from 4
Jeffrey: 4 from 4
Meldrum: 4 from 4

Getting a bit easier to pick as form shapes up.

A heavy track will be a great equaliser this weekend.

DIV 4
Saints v Canterbury - Long trip for the Berries but they might have just enough. Saints will be eager after missing a kick to win last week.
Irish v Raptors - clash of styles, this. Raptors' size and power might win out over Irish's rugby
Maccabi v Dukes - Maccabi forfeited 2s last week so maybe they'll be stronger at home
Renegades v Convicts - COME ON BOYS! Need a win if we want to play finals.

JEFFREY
Oatley v Engadine - Oatley on a rebuild year I think
Merrylands v Lice - upset of the round
Forces v KingsOB - the young men to take the road trip
Oysters v Burraneer - another upset tip in a lot of ways, but the Oysters did the Lice away a couple of weeks back

MELDRUM
Mac Uni v Chatswood - too much for the staggies
DYTH v Savers - Savers are shoo-ins for the finals and probably a top 2 spot
Balmain v Wakehurst - The Fallen have too much
Brothers v Covies - Roseville Chase in the wet? Bigger team.

Any stabbing threats or car park beatings tipped?

None that I know of.

Dukes called me to ask for advice - Renegades were in a similar predicament a few years back. I see a few things floating around indicating action has been taken, so the rest of the season will be interesting (if we have much more due to COVID).

In addition to being Div 5/6 Rep, I'm also becoming pseudo-rep for Div 4. It comes with a 200% increase in salary.

I'm sure you're nice fellas.

But Oatley, I hope you enjoyed you beers among yourselves.

I see Forest banned crowds from their games. Massive call.

The email that came out from Subbies was basically reverting things to kids sport: get in, play, get out (unless you're backing up or a team official).

Given the numbers involved in a standard First Div day, I suppose that is warranted. Not much different for us down in the lower divisions ;)

I see you had a draw with the Convicts Pfitzy, I saw them play a few weeks back, and they are a good team that play an expansive style... care to provide a match report for us all? cheers

Unfortunately I wasn't there due to illness. I can say the lead changed hands a few times and we missed a couple of conversions that could have been the win.

It is our second draw for the season, which I believe is a record. Got bonus points in both, missed critical kicks in both.

But I'll take 3 points over 2 any day.

haha those bastards...

The few away games we've had the opposition asked us back into the clubhouse for a boat race etc. We'd all left by then as we were told all of that stuff was not on this year due to covid. Not that I mind, I think all these restrictions are a bit over the top, but I think clubs can be excused this year..

Yea ive just never understood the concept of a player/club getting up in arms because another team either wants to drink amongst themselves or wants to bugger off and go home.

I sign up to play a game of footy, not to socialise with a bunch of randoms i don't know, if both parties are interested in having a bev after the game, fantastic. If they don't, don't hold it over their head or bitch about it

I feel the type of people that think they're entitled to group beers after the game are the same ones that think they're entitled to a conversation and the attention of a female just because they pay her an unsolicited compliment

Except when that same club bitches and whinges at you, then absolutely no shows without any mention.
