Tezzano deserves mention for pushing McReight. Banks lucky and probably only just there as he benefited from the rest of the team. Jock Campbell an alternative.

Reg, think my only change would be Swain in for Uru. I know you would be expecting this. But, not detracting from Uru at all whom I have thought to be a very good player since watching him in NRC, the dominance of the Brumbies pack and their efforts in defence in tight and in the rolling maul are areas where Darcy Swain excels.

For the second week I’m going to take the lazy approach and just borrow someone else’s team.

I did consider Maddocks at fullback, but I think at least part of that is me being happy he is (IMO) playing well despite being in a poor team. But he still made a couple of mistakes and Banks was probably better overall.

A couple of explanations:
1. Bell - in a week that none of the looseheads really shone, you can't really fault his effort. There were 2 penalties on his side of the scrum compared with one on Slipper's but he made a lot of carries and was high up on the tackle count, and he never gave up and played 70 minutes. Admittedly a bit of a Bradbury selection.
10. O'Connor - last week I went against the grain and picked Lolesio purely because of his defensive effort, this week I'm doing the opposite. Lolesio's attack stats are pretty ordinary as the 10 in a team that racked up 61 points.
15. Banks - only just. I also nearly gave it to Maddocks, very line ball.

Tizzano unlucky here and I was impressed with Fa'amausili and Elof for the Rebels. I understand fans rating Brumbies ahead of the Red 4 through 8 but jeez their stats impress and as a Reds fan I can't pass it. (Samu slips in anyway.) Slipper was workmanlike but the Elof performance went close. Paisami unlucky too, I'd rate him ahead of Ikitau mostly but the Brumbies deserve the lion's share this week. Honourable mention for Pincus - this kid has a future. Daugunu lucky but I don't think Hansen did enough shift him.

White head and tails above all other 9s.

It really depends on what teams the individuals are playing in.
If the Reds play the Brumbies & win by say a converted try plus a penalty, then the Reds will have slotted most of the positions, and vice versa. But there might just be a couple of outstanding players for the Reds on the night (or vice versa), which then carries a number of players in that team to the exalted best player position (unfairly so)
