If your kicking game is shit,I would be looking at the 10 before the 9.
slow service and alot of poor options.
Holloway is a Waverley graduate, and played some junior rugby with Randwick while attending Waverley.

so would that mean that he will be attending all scots games and not wicks games?? is wade planning to coach via telephone? do we need someone more committed or has he been instructed to focus on gaining colts aged players to the club?Maybe his job at Scots pays more than at the Wicks

Liam Windon played 5/8 with Wests colts.We have another problem looming with Horwitz's potential involvement in the U20's squad:
Preparation Tournament 22/4 to 4/5
Assembly Camp 20 to29/5
World Cup 30/5 to 21/6
If he's selected he will only be available for 2-3 more games between now and the end of June.
Who will play 10 in firsts -- Nicolson (1st year out of Colts), Norton (a few grade games last year and now injured (?). Has Liam Windon played at 10?
Maybe Brent Kelly will come out of retirement

Nicholson played all preseason including win at Eastwood and trial against Gen Blue in 1XV. He certainly has the skills. Against Gordon his game control was good with KRP and options suitable to the conditions. His kicking game and field position control allowed the team to play in the right areas of the park. This certainly was not the case in 1s. Horwitz lacked most of the above. He did not read the game amd continhed to pursue poor options including his favoured cut 2 pass. His poor field position control, particularly in the second half was a major factor that cost them the loss. In defence Nicholson does not shirk workload. I am not sure if Horwitz is thinking about rep footy but there have been several occasions over the last couple of matches where he has not committed. This is not what you want in battling games like last Saturdays against Gordon and likely again against a big Penrith side who will beat Randwick if they repeat last week's performance
Horwitz went straight from school footy to grade without a trial or a sniff of colts rugby last year!

I think Oli played the trials in 1s as they expect him to play a fair bit of 1s this year. That in itself will be a big achievement. Relax, it will happen. As the saying goes, One day a Rooster, the next day a feather duster. Fortunes change.

I agree. Playing Colts last year then playing against NSW 2 in front of Cheika is not a bad opportunity
.Take a breathe champion, I think for Oli's age he is in a considerably strong position and as long as he keeps himself fit, he will have no shortage of opportunity throughout the season in the top grade. This inpatient attitude is a new/ common thing amongst the young guys that ive dealt with these days. Whatever happened to grinding away. Don't know the kid personally but hopefully those close to him aren't continually whinging away about politics and he has his head where it needs to be ; on his game. won't do him any favours

Last year in 1s colts and preseason with 1xv was not put forward by randwick for U20's. Several Schoolboys unproven in colts did. Who says nepotism is dead !

Another great day for the coogee faithful with all five grades getting up.
Fifths won against Sydney Irish
Fourths won 85 to 14 against. Penrith
Max kite and max helliwell had good games in a team that enjoyed the running.
Third grade put on over a hundred in a very good display. Credit to Penrith who did not give up though they were well outgunned. The 7 for wicks Porpiglia was very good as was Hiddlestone at 15 who scored something like 45 points which must be a record. Ball is playing well in the centres where he might remain for the rest of his career.
Second grade had a harder time of it winning 49-7 . Harris hit up hard and Harrod had his usual good game.
This team played with fluidity and appear to have a good knowledge of each other's game. Hodge at 2 was outstanding as was the 12 ,Roberts.
Nicholson managed the game well and it was a pleasure seeing the ball in play without being kicked away.
First grade ran out looking some 20 kg per man lighter than Penrith. Penriths number five was a mountain of a man.
However, it was Wicks who scored first with a forwards maul . As is the way these days, Penrith replied almost immediately with 3.
Exchanges of penalties before wicks scored again but Penrith led at the half.
Connor who was my MoM followed a very good break was given the ball and ran thirty metres to score.
The indignity of a pushover try to Wicks will have he big Penrith pack wondering how to translate their weight advantage in the future.
Whilst Wicks got the win, they could not be happy with the amount of penalties they have been giving away.
Last week Gordon got home on the back of Wicks penalties and if Penrith had been a bit more savvy they may have done the same. Wicks won 37- 23 but Penrith were in it till the end.
Wicks never really looked smooth in their game today which can be put down to the exuberence of youth. They will need to get their timing right when they go up against the heavyweights
