You guys make the forum what it is, so I reckon you deserve to know.

While I can't just spruik the actual numbers out there for evil spies from The Roar and Foxsports to pick up and steal our secret herbs and spices, I can give you the statistical vibe of thing.

ACTIVE USERS PER DAY TO APRIL 2014.png
POSTS PER DAY.png

So while I know that limiting threads might have seemed like a pain in the arse and everyone's gone apeshit on twitter, Facebook and Instaporn, it would seem good ol GAGR continues to come up the rear.

Despite last year being a Lions year, and our biggest to date, this year we are still growing 30% on last as a site overall.

I am happy to take much of the credit for this.
I don't care if I don't deserve it!
Where's me bonus, Overlord? :p

I shudder to click on that Dismal Pillock link - that'll have to wait 'til later.

Yeah, I think the forum's going OK. The ones I visit tend to have a high proportion of regular contributors, who are generally good quality, could perhaps do with some new blood rising to that level. Some of the non-rugby ones have been dominated by a few boring individuals. Plenty of good trans-tasman input, which is great. As above.

What happened in Sept 2013 to get so many active users, without a spike in posts? Do you have a similar graph for when the "Quade telling it like it is" thread was burning up?

I wonder if the generally somewhat quieter nature of the forums these days is due to it reflecting Aus rugby as it stands - quietly doing OK, nobody melting down right now?

So is that 8/5 of fuck all? I'm quite good at maths.

Yes, from a cash in hand perspective, that bit of genius financial accounting formula seems dire, but are you taking into account the side benefits, such as:

1) Women throwing themselves at you,
2) Men wanting to be you,
3) Quaffing of the sponsors product, and perhaps the biggest benefit of all,
4) People talking to you on the forums who would normally not look twice at you in real life.

Have some more cheese and foie gras, you Parisian ponce!

I force-fed myself so much on holidays that you could make a nice foie gras out of my liver!

And I prefer the word dandy to ponce, thank you very much.

Double impressive that we've powered on despite your return

Ha! Funny bastard. But nice teeth and aspirations of being an interweb genius behind smoke and mirrors will only get you so far, my English friend.

What people want is the truth. The honest, unvarnished, funny-as-fuck TRUTH. And someone to keep all these dirty Queenslanders in their place while we're at it.

So here I am, having started up again not long ago, and the stats bear out the awesomeness I bring.

It is what it is

Congrats on the success, I really enjoy the site and for mine it seems to be improving.
A few suggestions;
- Put pressure on threads to boom or bust, much like when things go on sale...you either get in or you miss out.
Use technology to set minimum numbers of posts and/or posters so that threads don't linger forever or become the selfish domain of a few.
- Kill threads sooner rather than later...leave em wanting more e.g. If a Test happens on Sat 10th, it's dead by 14th. Posters should use the Series thread for additional comments, or that of the next Test if up.
- Allowing individual Clubs a Colts thread was overkill especially when Sydney Colts seems so poorly visited. Don't allow watering down unless the mothership thread is booming. E.g. The Shute Shield went well so when some club threads started popping that is fine, but individual Club Colts threads too? - nup.
- Anything an average punter cannot access but finds out about on GAGR is interested and invaluable. Lee Grants inside access with the Tahs, and his scoops on selections are fantastic and of high interest.
The political stuff should be specific or major issue based not open ended, again so there is closure and not endless waffle.
Last but not least - kill the "School scholarships" thread, it is fair dinkum Groundhog Day and only the Scots debacle gave it life, and that was how long ago?
Keep up the great work and appreciate your efforts.
